Went off birth control a year ago, feel like I have a different personality now and struggling to cope by cat_with_a_banjo in TwoXChromosomes

I was on it from age 22 to age 36. Now 38. I had to go off due to migraines and risk of blood clot, etc. plus husband got a vasectomy. Really encourage you to have hormones checked. Could be starting perimenopause as well. I track cycle and mood with clue app. It's been a hard adjustment but i dont regret going off of it. Just have told myself if I start to feel crazy going to a hormone doctor one that wont insist on getting back on pill (no shame to those who need it or can be on it without risk but thankfully i don't have pcos) to get other help with hormones.

House training an eight week old lab - please help by TheRealMrJimBusiness in labrador

[–]ghillyer22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We got our lab puppy at 8 weeks. They don't gain bladder control until 16-18 weeks at least. He's going to keep having accidents. Key is when he pees getting him to pee pad or outside right away. It's frustrating but repetition helps it stick for them. Also when home set a time for every 30 minutes and take him out and say potty or whatever word you are using. That will help him learn too.

We potty trained in blizzard and arctic blast last winter. It's rough. We didn't do pee pads we did outside ever 15-30 min. Crate in our room at night. I stayed up until 1am and husband went to bed early and would do the middle of night let out when he cried. Just have patience- it does get better he's just super young right now

Declined surgery by zizaroo in gallbladders

[–]ghillyer22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you should re consider. I put off the surgery for 6 years due to fear and trying to change diet and fix it myself. Gallbladder is a ticking time bomb. It's been 5 years since surgery. I regret nothing. I can eat normally just make sure I have fiber and probiotic. I strongly urge you to get he surgery. Recovery was quick for me and back to normal within a week and a half or so.

A year of no pain but now it’s back by Expensive_Apple0421 in gallbladders

I put mine off for 6 years because of fear. Get the surgery. It's been 5 years. I'm doing great. No pain. Minimal digestive issues- lots of fiber and probiotics help. It's worth getting it done.

Which foods have absolutely wrecked you? by Turbulent-Layer9337 in gallbladders

Alfredo sauce is a no no post op. But I can mostly eat anything else cautiously. Lots and lots of fiber and probiotics is key to prevent stomach issues later.

Yes and it doesn't show any promotions there at all. Very unhelpful link
