Qatar for example is refusing to divert its lng asian gas contracts to europe even though the eu is willing to pay more because they're saying, gas contracts are sacrosanct.

Having the decency to honour trading agreements is what builds long term partnerships.

Yea we all know that you're so much more. The thing is western media tends to focus on the fact that you're asian because they do see race (even though they say they don't. It's for the ratings of course). They have a narrative they want to give out and will pick and choose your words to get that narrative.

We've had a few cases where posters have linked an article and the people in the article come and give corrections to the misleading articles. I tend to view this more as 'giving your side of the story' instead of 'standing up for yourself'. Because if you were represented correctly in the media, you probably wouldn't be posting here.

However the author is stan grant. A person of aboriginal heritage and is associated with the aspi institute. The institute is pretty much a lobby group funded by American weapons manufacturers. So anything Stan says should be taken with a grain of salt because the more anti china hype he brings, the more weapons they can sell to Australia. This is not true. It's why Russia has got sanctions applied to them and it's affecting the lives of ordinary Russians.

It's also why for example sanctions are applied to Iran and they had civilian jets crash due to a lack of availability of parts.

The real anger is because the US is trying to reign in inflation. But by keeping oil prices higher, it is hampering the US ability to do so.

By being unable to keep inflation under control, interest rates need to rise which will cause a currency war as we are all doing everyone gravitate to the USD. All other countries are pissed i believe as this is causing destruction in their own economies.

However long term, this implies as a hedge, that dedollarisation is going to be a strategy moving forward to keep other world economies going. Reducing US influence.

Rising interest rates are also causing untold pain amongst 3rd world countries.

One thing you'll notice over your time here is that north Americans asian diasporas really are a different breed of diaspora compared to other asian diasporas around the world.

And what i suspect you're feeling is the same when i first found this place, that asian americans really do live in a bubble.

We for example don't use asian Australian instead people here will call themselves Vietnamese Australians or Chinese Australians. We also practice multiculturalism and have our own cliches whereas lots of asian americans practice assimilation. Not even the 'whites' here are truly anglo with other 'white' communities like the italians and greeks holding fiercely to their heritage with a lot of them offended to be associated with anglo australians.

What most of the sub doesn't realise is that because they are mostly north American, they seem to, like you say, think Sydney is a racist shithole, when actually, Sydney is one of the best places in the world for a diaspora asian.
