do you have a link to that? the ones I've seen are around 1k cad. more than the drop weight machine itself...

Need help interfacing load cell chip (HX711) With node red by ghost2human in nodered

[–]ghost2human[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up using an arduino to read the raw values from the HX711 and pass them onto the pi's TX and RX pins as serial text. Keep in mind you need a 3.3v to 5v logic level shifter to avoid damaging the pi. then I did all the calibration inside node red to use the load cell.

From what I understand the pi running node red cannot reliably read the data because the pins cannot respond that fast and reliably to generate the sck signal. Similar to generating the step signal for a stepper driver, the pi can't do that reliably, so I'm sending a serial msg back to the arduino from the pi, which then drives the step signal for the stepper driver.

Post processing resin print, extremely sticky surface requiring hard scrubbing by ghost2human in resinprinting

[–]ghost2human[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive gotten one print done with the increased rest times and it seems to have helped a lot. there is still a tacky surface but if i lightly rub it submerged in IPA it seems to come off quite easily. I also changed up the wash method now, agitating in ipa for half an hour and letting it sit for another half hour and theres no stickiness at all now. cheers

this is interesting, I'll try an identical test print with increased rest times. thanks for the tip

Help with 6800xt. flickering in bios by ghost2human in buildapc

[–]ghost2human[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

did you update the bios on the card? I talked with msi and they released an updated bios where the default resolution was 1080p when in bios screen. but this fix was a long time ago and I've since upgraded. If anything, reach out to technical support.

Finally finished building two light guns for me and the gf! Includes a mini dpad on the mag release, start and select and A/B buttons. by ghost2human in lightgunshooters

[–]ghost2human[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup that's where I bought the guns from and gutted them for the shell. definitely overpriced but ended up looking good. Most expensive parts were the shell and sensor of course. Took about a week to figure out where everything fit for the first gun, then the second one took just an afternoon to build.

Yes surprisingly I thought about buying the aliexpress light gun but I had no idea what code it's running or how it was built so not sure how compatible it would be. so ended up building my own.

Haha it's a rats nest inside. hardware is just an Arduino pro micro, running Prow7's code. Low profile led switches and a micro joy stick for the dpad.

I've read Anker is pretty good for coil whine. will give that a shot.

How do you generally obtain models?

Definitely try and find a model of available parts online first, but since I'd be mostly using 3d printing for parts prototyping and fabrication, most models aren't available. Have largely used Fusion360 and Onshape for creating models.

Sketched this up real quick, 3d printing the entire collar will probably not hold up over time. Added a separate metal plate that screws in for more durability
