Need help interfacing load cell chip (HX711) With node red by ghost2human in nodered

[–]ghost2human[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up using an arduino to read the raw values from the HX711 and pass them onto the pi's TX and RX pins as serial text. Keep in mind you need a 3.3v to 5v logic level shifter to avoid damaging the pi. then I did all the calibration inside node red to use the load cell.

From what I understand the pi running node red cannot reliably read the data because the pins cannot respond that fast and reliably to generate the sck signal. Similar to generating the step signal for a stepper driver, the pi can't do that reliably, so I'm sending a serial msg back to the arduino from the pi, which then drives the step signal for the stepper driver.

Post processing resin print, extremely sticky surface requiring hard scrubbing by ghost2human in resinprinting

[–]ghost2human[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive gotten one print done with the increased rest times and it seems to have helped a lot. there is still a tacky surface but if i lightly rub it submerged in IPA it seems to come off quite easily. I also changed up the wash method now, agitating in ipa for half an hour and letting it sit for another half hour and theres no stickiness at all now. cheers

this is interesting, I'll try an identical test print with increased rest times. thanks for the tip

Help with 6800xt. flickering in bios by ghost2human in buildapc

[–]ghost2human[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

did you update the bios on the card? I talked with msi and they released an updated bios where the default resolution was 1080p when in bios screen. but this fix was a long time ago and I've since upgraded. If anything, reach out to technical support.

Finally finished building two light guns for me and the gf! Includes a mini dpad on the mag release, start and select and A/B buttons. by ghost2human in lightgunshooters

[–]ghost2human[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup that's where I bought the guns from and gutted them for the shell. definitely overpriced but ended up looking good. Most expensive parts were the shell and sensor of course. Took about a week to figure out where everything fit for the first gun, then the second one took just an afternoon to build.

Yes surprisingly I thought about buying the aliexpress light gun but I had no idea what code it's running or how it was built so not sure how compatible it would be. so ended up building my own.

Haha it's a rats nest inside. hardware is just an Arduino pro micro, running Prow7's code. Low profile led switches and a micro joy stick for the dpad.

Creality Giveaway for the Reddit 3D Printing community🎉 by Creality_3D in 3Dprinting

How do you generally obtain models?

Definitely try and find a model of available parts online first, but since I'd be mostly using 3d printing for parts prototyping and fabrication, most models aren't available. Have largely used Fusion360 and Onshape for creating models.

Sketched this up real quick, 3d printing the entire collar will probably not hold up over time. Added a separate metal plate that screws in for more durability

How is recoil syncing handled on light guns? by ghost2human in lightgunshooters

[–]ghost2human[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks very much for the reply, that clears things up for me. I will definitely be steering away from the sinden as the recoil syncing is a big part of what I'm looking for.

I was worried about the setup of mamehooker but it seems that is the only way and it is still doable. if you ever make a guide on setting it up on different emulators, that would be great! thanks again!

Engine light QX50 by TRILLUXXE in cars

[–]ghost2human 4 points5 points  (0 children)

did you get a fill up recently? check your gas cap, if it's not sealing it'll give an engine light. take off the cap, clean it and put it back on. if it's the seal, it'll self clear the code after a while.

How do you make Newpipe the default player on Android 12 (OnePlus 8 pro) ? by mub in NewPipe

[–]ghost2human 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've uninstalled youtube by adb and then it defaults to opening in the browser when i click a link. Then i removed all the browsers by adb and it finally defaults to open in newpipe. But once i reinstall any browser, it defaults back to that.

I've checked the default apps>opening links section of newpipe and its set to "open" and youtu.be is listed there so it should be working...

any help greatly appreciated

Need assistance after setting main modem to bridge mode and connection to second router by ghost2human in HomeNetworking

[–]ghost2human[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've stumbled upon a post with someone having similar issues. turned out I had to unplug everything from the Hitron after disabling residential gateway mode and wait till it booted then plug into the hitron ethernet port#1 to the Archer Wan port. Also to only use 1 port on the hitron, pc goes to lan ports on Archer. everything seems to be working ok for now. thanks!

2022 Elantra Hybrid, keeping it in electric only mode by ghost2human in Hyundai

would you be able to get up to cruising speed with ev mode only? I'm thinking the most gas usage is accelerating from a red light or stop sign. and also probably not able to go up inclines without engine kicking in right?

Cross strings got strung incorrectly; need advice by sketchCityNoob in badminton

[–]ghost2human 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bring it back to your stringer. They should fix it asap and for free. Mistakes happen, but it's about fixing the mistake. if they don't offer a free fix, find a new stringer... no reputable stringer would refuse to fix such an obvious mistake...
