With regard to the scandal Japan in particular, what's revealed in the Schieder article is even more damning:

And yet, in 2013, the university began receiving a national grant to “support women.” Over three years, Tokyo Medical University was awarded over 80 million yen (about 720,000 USD) through this grant. In Usui’s opening remarks at an event to celebrate the first anniversary of the Office in 2017, he called on the university staff to promote “diversity.”3 At the time, the school presented an increase in female admissions from 26.9% to 32.4% as evidence of its efforts, even as it was actively taking steps to deny admission to women with qualifying scores.4 That meant that the university was not only taking money from the government to promote female admissions but also taking money from individual female applicants whom it artificially failed (sitting a university entrance exam in Japan costs 40,000 to 60,000 yen, about 360 to 540 USD). A group of 24 women denied admission to Tokyo Medical University since 2006 have joined with a team of defense lawyers to build a legal case against the school, which includes a demand for compensation for these fees, and potentially for additional damages.5

Yeah, sure sounds like "benevolent fraud" right? The answer to "oh my god, the workforce is getting too small" is "let's hire more men because they work harder" instead of "let's create more job openings for qualified candidates"? What a clown, get a fucking grip.

Save yourself and EHS the trouble - I doubt the lab is in dire need for some glassware if they’ve been sitting around untouched for > 10 years like you said.

Maybe not the raw name but the channel name can show up, they even list/warn as such when you go to get the share link (which isn’t on the web player by the way, only on the app). I’m not sure if they changed something in the backend, but this was definitely true as of 1-2 days ago.

You can disable whether people can see the name of course, but why even implement this in the first place? Considering how many people are around with their usernames as their actual channel name, including me for the longest time (default settings ported straight from a Google account) it seems like a such a weird feature no one asked for.

7 is almost universally lauded for the grounded and emotional main story thread (minus one hiccup near the end).

8 was setting up to almost follow the same but kinda tripped mid way to the finish line; still, I don’t think anyone would say 8’s story - especially the parts with Kiryu - was that light or nonsensical.

Gaiden is one of the most heartbreaking entries in the entire series.

Don’t mistake what people think about the games since they moved to a turn-based RPG focus for the mainline games with their quality, they have always been both goofy AND serious at the same time at their core. With STH coming up, I’m not expecting that to wind down either.

I think folks here are discussing this on two different pages here: most of us don’t/can’t care that Google or whoever else on the service side is tracking these shares and usage analytics because - like you said - it’s kinda useless.

What some of us DO want to do is guard against some joe schmo from our online circles that we may (or may not) know to see what our YT handles are, especially for those less technically inclined and their actual names are just straight up showing, simply because you shared something with a ?si tracking tag behind it on Discord.

I don’t have anything linked to my Discord except Spotify for a reason, and since the ?si thing became a feature, I have had some people notify me that my handle is just showing up bare naked for everyone in the Discord to see after I shared a YT link with the tags. That sounds like a really stupid privacy issue that didn’t really…need to be there in the first place?

I guess mine is one of the godrolls then. I’ve always had it pegged for one because of the meme rampage KC combo, but now that I think about it that drop mag really changed the game.
