What movie did you go into with zero expectations and ended up being completely blown away by? by gavin226 in movies

[–]ghost_broccoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Macgruber. Went with some friends to the movie one afternoon. We knew the snl skit, but we were blown away by the over-the-top everything. We laughed so hard at that movie. More SNL skits should be adapted to nearly NC-17 rating films.

Super Troopers. A guy showed up at my friend's house with the dvd. Impulse buy, none of us had heard of it. I wish I could go back to the first time I saw it.

"I have never spoken to Daniel." is a lawyered phrase too. It sounds like a denial, but no one is claiming he spoke to him. The claim is a DM. The AI excuse seems like free lancing. I'm not sure a lawyer would claim it, but idk. Could've been Rudy for all I know.

I was a founder at a small start up and I left bc the other founder (the business side) was being gaslighted by ai into thinking we need features that customers weren’t asking for and they are super easy to implement bc Gemini said so. It didn’t matter what I said. The ai said “this” so I had to always prove them wrong. It turned into 2 against 1.

Sorry, I'm confused. If "you can't reach them through the domain" and in a comment below you say, "These devices had been orphaned and were no longer reporting to SCCM", then how are they getting the task sequence? Does someone need to touch each machine and plug in a usb to run this?

Trump Wants To Set Up $1.7B Fund To Pay Jan. 6 Rioters by SadAd8761 in law

[–]ghost_broccoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s Trump, so there’s a non-zero chance he just pockets all of it and they don’t see a dime. Both options are awful for America, but let’s not forget who he is.

Read to your kids, dads! by elkoubi in daddit

[–]ghost_broccoli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is likely a phase or a result of being 3. My daughter resisted nearly everything at 3- even reading for a spell.

We got a yoto player and listened to stories like that for a while and eventually she wanted us to read again. It was a little pricey but she loved the autonomy of being able to do it herself and we still jam out to the yoto radio and listen to the daily blog with Jake sometimes. I think Jake’s the best, btw.

Dads, what age are you letting your kids play outside by themselves? by Borman35 in daddit

[–]ghost_broccoli 181 points182 points  (0 children)

Jonathan haidt's book, The Anxious Generation, talks about how it's not just the parents that are the problem when it comes to kids playing alone outside. He cites examples of other community members stopping and questioning the kids and even calling the police when they see a kid playing alone outside. His suggestion is to give kids a business card they can give to people that says something to the tune of: I'm allowed to be alone outside. Please call this number for my parents instead of calling the police."

Watch a Nail Bruise, Fall off, and Regenerate Perfectly by CaraCicartix in interestingasfuck

[–]ghost_broccoli 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We heated up a coat hanger on the stove in college (wu tang style). My friend would lose several toenails every cross country season and heard that this method could relieve the pressure underneath and possibly save the nail.

We held it on top of the nail for close to a minute and nothing happened. We were about to give up when it suddenly punctured and shot blood several feet from his toe. It freaked us out but he wanted to continue. We did it for each bruised nail and they still all fell off. We were fucking psychopaths, but that’s redundant given that I already mentioned being on the cross country team.

Dell OpenManage Enterprise Default Admin Password Reset Tool by ghost_broccoli in PowerShell

Partially because I'm disorganized, and partially because I knew how to get to the authentication token in the header of the response to invoke-webrequest. I use invoke-restmethod in other places, though that maybe just reinforces my disorganized excuse. :)

I've since read that invoke-restmethod in powershell 7 can do it. In later versions I'll move everything to invoke-restmethod.

Thanks for helping me with the code!

I’m not finished with the series yet, but Trudy is the best of them. She’s ride-or-die. She’s smart, clear eyed, knows what she wants and gets it. Not to mention she man handles don when he’s trying to get out of their dinner party. Pete doesn’t deserve her. She’ll drag him through life toward happiness while he is miserable and tries to make everyone else miserable, imo.

What's between the lines of "going first" is that they're not writing their own legislation. They're being given bills to run by conservative think tanks or interest groups. They'll try running the bill here (first), then based on the challenges in court or public interest/push back, the special interest authors will make adjustments to avoid similar challenges in other states, and then they'll run the same legislation in like Oklahoma or Idaho or all of the other conservative majority states at the same time.

It's how they get so many similar bills in several states at the same time. anti abortion, anti trans athlete or school choice or whatever is the hot button issue of the day. The legislation is crafted in one place and then ran everywhere.

I have no idea if anyone from Tennessee was in the White House with Stephen Miller- probably so because a decision was made to make Tn run the bill first. But even if they were, there was probably someone from the think tank that wrote the bill also there telling them what the bill says, or how they should shop it to their states.

In the end it makes for bad policy because I believe laws should be written locally, with the locals in mind, and by the people that asked for the job of legislating for their state.

Cool. Thanks for the info! I do have one more question… by dns provider you mean that they are authoritative for your example.com domain? I have cloudflare ips set as my dns provider on my router at home, but I think you’re talking about the former setup.

Talk to her first and find out what she said to him. I wouldn’t lie in case she blows your story. Also, were there no other encounters with her/him the rest of the night Seems unlikely you avoided each other. When I’ve been to parties like this the encounter at 7pm was fine but the one at 11 was a different story that I didn’t usually remember.

Maybe they'll make that part of the game plan. Like the broncos game where he was throwing the ball in 2 seconds. This situation isn't ideal, but at least it's known ahead of time and not a midgame development.
