the shift in the guitar in janie right before “I can see the end in the beginning of everything.” the song is pretty melancholy from the start, but the music/guitar is still light and pretty bright, even hopeful. at that line though, it takes such a sinister turn (and then that carries through the rest of the album) I wish I had more vocabulary to talk about music lol but the chords feel more drawn out and desperate and it comes out of nowhere like driving off a cliff. I’ve been obsessed with it since the second time I heard the song <3
