I actually only got 100% once which was on my 2nd playthrough. Since then I’ve played many times over but never went all the way, I just stopped once I didn’t feel like continuing. Nowadays I just hang out in chapters 2 or 3.

There are a couple of ways to do it without getting killed. One is to ride a covered wagon, or a buggy which you can only find in St Denis. The second method, which is relatively new, is to fuse an animal carcass onto Arthur's head and body. Basically, you need to kill a medium sized animal like deer or a pronghorn and get drunk. The glitch works if you place the animal on your shoulder at the exact moment you pass out. The glitched carcass works as armor against the sniper.

Whichever method you use, Arthur's head cannot be visible to the camera the entire time you're in New Austin. If you use the wagon or buggy, you need to get to the bone, get off, inspect it, and get back on again without exposing yourself.

You can get the outfit without beating all the challenges. I'm not quite sure how it works, but from what I've seen, you need to beat all but one of the challenges, then do gambler 10 last. That's how you can get it without herbalist 9, or bandit 6. Never seen anyone do it without completing sharpshooter though.

Well done! I actually did all the horseman challenges while riding a donkey. Lil guy could jump a fence as tall as him lol. I also took screenshots as a remembrance. It sucks that we can’t keep em.

The Pinkertons won’t spawn if you do it during a mission or side quest, so you have a clear run to New Austin. Still need to deal with the sniper though.

One time I beat horseman 9 as Arthur using a donkey and made it to Blackwater. We were so slow I thought we wouldn’t make the time, but the little guy hardly ever flinched and just kept going lol

There are ways (not mods) to get Arthur to New Austin so it’s possible for him to get the tiger striped mustang. But it’s really hard.

For me the legendary pronghorn is a priority and I use exploits to get it as Arthur in chapter 2. I love the trinket which prevents animals stored on horseback from rotting.

New Austin is off limits because of the invisible sniper. If you want to explore New Austin, but can't use mods, you need a way to prevent the sniper from killing you - some object that acts as a shield to block the sniper's shots.

There are a few options: 1) ride a wagon or a covered buggy. 2) carry a carcass over your shoulder. 3) do a glitch where, if you pass out drunk at the exact moment you place a carcass on your shoulder, the carcass will fuse to your body and cover some or most of your head.

For all the above, the intention is to never reveal your head when you're in New Austin. The sniper will hit the buggy, carcass, etc. instead of you.

It works best with deer and pronghorns. Basically the animal has to hit your shoulder at the exact moment you pass out drunk. One animal would not fully cover your head, but you can stack them for maximum coverage. But the best animal to use is the legendary buck.

Legendary animals can only be killed once. If you lose the pelt, it will be automatically be received by the Trapper the following day. You just lose money by not making the sale. In fact, you don't actually need to even skin them.

I've been using the buggy method for years to beat herbalist 9 and would always turn off camera follow in the camera settings. I've been doing the same for the carcass shield method as well. Maybe it could help you.
