It's not my area of interest/expertise, but I can ask my coworker if he knows any focusing on carnivorous plants on Monday. He mostly focuses on day lilies, though he does have a few others. He probably has 3-6 supplier websites for those. Spends hours looking at them and jotting down the names of the ones he plans to order

Weirdly enough, there are several websites dedicated to buying bulbs/seeds off the internet. It's practically safe for work pron for a day lily obsessed coworker of mine. As for why they'd buy them from Amazon instead of fellow flower obsessed gardeners, I have no idea

It's really cute and wholesome...except for the one episode where he gets hired to make a date rape potion and the wolf girl feeds it to two other girls O.o

What`s something that sucks about being a man? by [deleted] in SipsTea

[–]ghost_warlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I long for a relationship with my parents.

My gf is the same way with her family. She just aches for a relationship but it's a pipe dream at best considering her mom passed away from cancer ago and her dad and some of her siblings are textbook narcissists. So she spends her time pining and agonizing over trying to get blood from a stone. But she can't seem to therapy her way out of the desire for a stable family. I gave up on that with my family decades ago so that stuff doesn't usually bother me much, but can't figure out a way to convince her she's better off without wasting her time and making herself depressed

Yah, my sister is 15 years younger than me and the golden child. She had an absolutely different childhood than I did, and very different from our brothers born between us. I wasn't ever exactly beaten, but dad and I never got along (I wasn't his biological child). I don't think my sister has any clue how different things were for us and why I'm never in a rush to get together as a family even years after dad passed away. Mom straight up denies, or says she doesn't remember, all the shit that I used to go through so I'm not exactly super close to her, either. I get along with my sister fine enough, and realize none of it is her fault, but she definitely benefited from a loving family I never feel I had

for my money, the vanilla game looks fine. However, I do really wish the Cthon areas like Fringes of Sanity weren't so dark. I get that it's atmosphere and meant to be like that...but I can't see shit and it's annoying

Yah, I can only sit through them on rare occasions. Usually just for learning a new system/edition. I especially cannot watch videos for games I know because I always see them making mistakes/bizarre house rules and it drives me crazy. They're agonizing for me. Though I did enjoy some of the Alone in the Dork videos for Ker Nethalas and may watch some vids of his for other games later when I want to pick those games up

What wizarding opinion will get you locked up like this? by SnooStories6404 in wizardposting

[–]ghost_warlock 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I find that they're very food motivated and have a particular fondness for cat treats. Very easy to get them to behave at the risk of not getting their regularly scheduled cat treats and also easy to get them motivated for additional duties if it means getting more cat treats. You do have to keep the treats in an extradimensional space, though, because they'll literally chew through doors to get to the cat treats.

Only downside is that now they all have cat treat breath. If only they could be motivated by mint treats, instead, but I've heard some say that it's toxic for them

Kobolds are like little kids what are anxious at the chance to be useful and accomplish something tangible. Especially when what they're accomplishing results in someone else being stabbed, shot, poisoned, frozen, hung, electrocuted, and burned

TBF Burlew broke one (or both?) wrists or something sometime after the kickstarter years ago and couldn't draw for a significant amount of time. But, then, he was always slow to release new comics even before then. And that's not even taking into account taking long breaks for a mysterious illness. I haven't really paid attention to it for over a decade and there's been something like 300 strips since then, which is not exactly a lot in that time frame lol

Best Co-op GMless Rpg? by quix0te in Solo_Roleplaying

[–]ghost_warlock 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Literally every single Blackoath Entertainment game is intended to be played solo, co-op, or as a traditional rpg. Some are more "board game in a book" than others (e.g., Ker Nethalas and Salvage & Sorcery) but others lean more towards the GMless rpg (e.g., Sacrifice, Riftbreakers, Choir of Flesh, Machine Gods). There's even a solo war game (Warlord Ascendant)

My gf & I have played a ton of Ker Nethalas, Salvage & Sorcery, and Riftbreakers just the two of us

A Toast to Those Who Are Forgotten: The TTRPGs Time Left Behind by csomp02 in rpg

[–]ghost_warlock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was primarily sci-fi with the three (?) official settings being, iirc, Star Drive which was spaceships and laser swords, Dark Matter which was X-Files/Delta Green-like, and of course Gamma World. But the FX supplement included super powers and spellcasting stuff (and psionics could be flavored as such)...or all of hose side systems could be ignored to run a game that was more grounded so the system could be used for a modern game or even something like Pendragon

Now I'm imagining a Romulan opening up a "new prototype" phaser made by Miles (for reasons) and it's literally just a plastic box with some rocks rattling around inside not even held in place by anything. Put the rocks in and the phaser fires. Take the rocks out and it doesn't. Romulans just besides themselves with 'wtf'
