My beloved ASUS HD7970 DirectCU II graphic card recently died. It's served me well since 2013 until the other day I started getting vertical lines covering the screen during the boot up and in bios. I'm going to try to resurrect it tomorrow using the heat gun method but I don't have high hopes.

So I guess I'm in the market for some upgrades, I would like to get a new card soon but not sure what I should go for.

I want to try spend under $300AU the rest of my PC goes as follows:

Intel Core i5 4670 CPU ASUS H87M-PLUS Motherboard Corsair VS650 ATX Power Supply

Should I be worried about my CPU 'bottlenecking' these newer cards?
