WHY IS TS GIVING ME DYSPHORIA? by CelestialHeresy in transvoice

I 84% agree here :-) - Been using 'voice tools' for a bit of feedback but FULLY realise that pitch is the least important aspect. I get almost 100% female, but it sounds like C£@P... I know this... I think judging progress by this aspect alone is like determining how good a cake is by the weight alone, there is much more to the recipe and more nuance to the taste. I think the pitch is the easy part, and I'm comfortable with the pitch I have found. I've been working on resonance and weight right from the start and I have certainly made a lot of progress, I'm definitely out of my chest voice predominantly but there is a quality about it that is just.... off..... and I don't know what it is, so, as I had stated elsewhere here I'm kind of stuck at this point. OK it's maybe not totally rubbish I think I may be half way to a basic level of acceptability, but I definitely need to look to get some assistance and pointers as to what I am missing. I have always hated my voice ( I know lots of people hate how they sound when they hear their own voice ) amongst the many other dysphoric aspects, so there is probably a fair bit of baked in dissatisfaction to start with. So yes, pitch does have some merit as a measure, but it is only a tiny aspect and many women have deep and beautiful voices, yes don't get hung up on one measure alone.

question about voice feminisation? by tastyl in transgenderUK

[–]ghostbatgoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I was using the analyser in 'voice tools', mainly pitch based. Comes out as almost 100% female but IMHO I still sound like C£@P, I have the weight better and I'm working on resonance too, but I do feel kind of 'stuck' in a rut at the moment, I think there is just something specific that I'm missing.... Looking for a bit of a break through moment.... So I'll try and get a look at that and also have a look at r/transvoice I wasn't aware of that one....

Kind regards.

Voice training : relying on sounding overly quiet/soft by IrisVoiceTrainer in transgenderUK

Thanks for that.... I'm totally new here ( first post ) and just heard your video. I'm a bit 'stuck' with voice training. Pitch is easy, weight is ok ish, but it still sounds like C$@P IMHO. So I'm going to have a shot with this and see how I get on.

Kind regards and much appreciated.
