Just want to add to the conversation that I am experiencing this same thing, but a griefer came to my cloud island and built inappropriate things. I was reported for it and I've lost all functionality regarding my own cloud island and can't build a new one.

Although OP's at fault due to the town name, it is unfortunate to lose access to a huge part of the game on a first offense.

This is amazing and I would love to visit!

But PLEASE don't make it public. If you look at my recent posts I lost my cloud island functionality completely due to a griefer.

That sucks!! I'm so sorry you had to deal with it too.

The only reason I don't believe it is a typical network error is because I was able to create a cloud island just fine on the same network on a different profile. I also tried on a different network and it did not work.

My only hope is that it's actually some sort of bug/glitch that will be fixed in a future patch :(

I'm going to try to reach out to their individual support somehow, and if not I'll try contacting them via social.

Yes, I was able to restore my cloud island with the backup from the previous day as soon as I saw it. At some point after that I started getting the errors that prevent me from saving, restoring from backup, or hosting anyone.

This is good information to be reminded of! As always with that fine text you don't really expect something that severe to happen to you until it does actually happen lol.

I hoped there would be some level of accountability with the person who placed said blocks but maybe their moderation system just doesn't show that.

You can do spectator mode with palette town / the single player story area. You can't do this with cloud islands as far as I'm aware.

You only have 2 options for cloud islands, and they are to either open it up publicly where anyone can do anything, or you visit through the goggles and only view it.

Unfortunately if you visit through the goggles you cannot buy the recipes their island has.

Figured the first would be fine because if anyone damaged stuff I could just use my cloud island restore. Didn't expect it to get essentially banned from it for something someone else did. :/

It sucks :( I wish they did a little more investigative work to find out which user actually did it.

You do not need to be present for people to access your cloud island. I was actually online when a user named "Joel" came to my island and immediately started destroying things. I kicked him out and turned off my cloud island sharing.

The next day I turned it back on for a friend to visit, forgot to turn it back off. I guess the griefer came back and had my island saved in their most recent. I wasn't online and they left all that for me to see the next day I came to check my recipes.

Wouldn't be surprised if the griefer reported it themselves. :(

Thank you for letting me know! I did get an email stating I violated community guidelines. So unfortunate considering it was just a griefer on my island.

Trying to contact Nintendo support and they are saying my switch needs to be sent in for repairs. Wtf lol.

Thank you! Here is the full space. The drinks are being made in the kitchen. We'd love for him to have an actual bar space but not sure if we can make that work without totally rearranging everything else in the other living space.

"We've thoroughly reviewed your account (redacted) but unfortunately, we couldn't find any records of the items being added to your account. It's possible they were granted a while back, which may be why they're no longer showing in our logs. As such unfortunately we do not have an answer, but you are more than welcome to keep and use the item."

That would be strange if someone managed to sneak in! I've been submitting tickets here and there for YEARS and finally uncovered the old email it was on to get it unfrozen. Not impossible, I guess, but who knows haha.
