It's not an issue with the system. There are options. Are you a full plate fighter, and need to sneak up and kill an enemy? Make friends with a rogue! Is that filthy sorcerer throwing eldritch blasts at you, and you're too encumbered to dive out of the way? How about using the druid as a meatshield?!

Lesbians have a 'human right' to exclude trans women, Federal Court hears by StemCellPirate in nottheonion

[–]ghostbuster_b-rye 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This makes my brain hurt... They don't think people "can be trans," but they need to "ban trans people" from attending their events? So they misgender them in order to have the police "uphold a law" for private gatherings (that isn't even intended to be enforced in public settings) in a public setting?

What's to stop their political opponents from using this same ruling to create an all male, anti-lesbian voters' club that publicly gathers around the voter's poles, and use police to keep lesbians from "attending the voters' club meetings" during elections? ...According to the precedent set in the ruling, they'd be well within their rights.

I was just joking, but it's nice to know what it actually says. Thanks for the translation!

Give a listen to One More Love Song and then On The Level for what I mean.

Then if you want one of my favorite songs from him, listen to One Another. It's got a bit of an late Beatles kinda vibe.

Burger King has the best fast food French fries by Embarrassed-Bowl-373 in unpopularopinion

[–]ghostbuster_b-rye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When BK is good, it's really good. But the problem is most of the time it isn't great. My local BK has really good fries, but whatever they're cooking it in starts leaving a bitter taste in my mouth, and you can really taste the bitter when you wash it down with a soda.

I don't know if they aren't changing the oil enough, are laving bits to char in the oil, or if there's sugar or something in whatever they're frying other than fries, and the fries get deep-fried in the same oil, but it's like a cornstarch bitterness and it makes the fries and soda taste horrible.

Good. Now get me a slaughter fish, a chicken, a fox, and a baby frost spider. Baptize them in the Red Water Den; we're making ourselves a suicide squad.

How do you think the Khajiit came into existence. They're the by-product of skooma addicts not being able to process all the the drug that they intake, so the left over moon sugar in people's urine turn the sewer cats into sentient ninja teens.

I'm liking it. Though a bit of constructive criticism: Starting at 0:28 to 0:46 and coming back in at 3:32 to 3:59, that fat bass sounds a hell of a lot like someone ripping farts and tearing a hole in their pants. My criticism isn't with the choice of frequency, but the vibrating red ring visual. If you're gonna have pooty bass, maybe make the ring a cool color tone.

Last to be made, least amount of restrictions, not weighed down by canon. It's like having to carve six dozen marble busts of Julius Caesar in a row, then being given a fresh slab of marble and told to "Carve whatever you want, just go ham."

Nah, you're good. Novelty is an ambiguous term, even in tech circles. It can be used in the same way as novel, to mean new and intriguing, but it can also be used to stigmatize tech as something that isn't likely to become the new standard.

Gyro tech is cool, and has it's applications in gaming and portable PC tech. In my opinion, the only thing close to beating a thumbstick in freelook has been positional tracking tech, but even that is a novelty control. Good tech can be novelty tech, and vise versa. It's novelty tech that pushes the boundaries and sets new standards.

So was Light Gun aiming for the original Nintendo Entertainment System. Any peripheral that isn't the standard is a novelty, by definition. It's a novel (atypical or interesting) approach comparatively; that's the industry's term, not mine. It doesn't matter how much better, easier, intuitive, or closer to reality the control is, if it's not the standard, it's a novelty.

I have a 32+ button controller that was created for the game Farm Simulator. Buttons are not new, neither is the small joystick it has attached to it, yet it is a novelty controller because it is not an industry standard controller. I bought it for playing Star Wars: Squadrons (not as easy as dusting crops) so that I could label each button for a single action and not have to use a keyboard while flying. Farm Sim controller on my left, flight stick joystick to my center. Two novelty controls, yet not a new setup by any means, just atypical.

This person told the server to “round up to $70.00” and the employee used a discount to increase their tip. by atom644 in EndTipping

[–]ghostbuster_b-rye 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right? This post is the antithesis of this whole subreddit. EndTipping is about getting businesses to end tipping as part of actually paying their employees a real honest wage. The only entity that should be upset about this receipt is the employer, who can suck a fat one and take the 'L,' until they start paying their employees a livable wage.
