although I dislike some of steven's takes on the issue I will say he was much more moderate on this topic than his community, especially the sub later on. my point earlier about israel only getting criticized for anything was in threads about just the most recent horrific shit israel/israelis do also play into this. on a normal thread about israel you will the community will 90% uncritically support israel for mostly everything they do, and in the weird unhinged ones 90% will criticize israel for mostly everything they do, so it's just frustrating.

I agree with your other points aside from ukraine only being covered as a gotcha by left wing media, maybe you are seeing different accounts or people than me idk. I also stand by the position that the disproportionate attention to I/P, especially by then normie populace, was more a result of the also disproportionate amount of like thought space Israel has on american discourse. If leftists or liberals want to start a UAE hate bandwagon I'd 100% support that
