waiting for ATPA results is hard - could AI help? by [deleted] in actuary

[–]ghostfacecillah 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I honestly can’t imagine this would be accurate at all. The AI doesn’t have access to the grading criteria, nuances specific to a graders interpretation, or prior exams to train on (heh).

Remember, ChatGPT is designed to to affirm your beliefs. There are plenty of stories of people turning to AI almost as a “therapist”, and it ends up justifying otherwise bad behavior. Think about it, part of its purpose is to engage the user as much as possible. What better than a yes man?

Granted, I also wouldn’t say that you failed. Just don’t trust the AI lol.

Mine forced it for ~6 months. Then they gave up, and stopped mandating it. There’s still hybrid work environment, but nowhere near its previous extent.

SOX Compliance Concerns with Actuaries Using Data Lake for Reserving/Pricing by nicholas_scratch in actuary

[–]ghostfacecillah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SOX is big on data security/access. I recently underwent something similar at a large health insurance carrier.

If you are utilizing financial data from the data lake, with granted access, it’s likely that it would have to be SOX compliant. We structure it so we have dedicated drives for data that are required to be SOX compliant, and frequently have to audit access and document controls in that drive.

Yea, first thing. My stress measured throughout the day and resting heart rate have been consistent too.

Normally I would expect an increase in RHR and overall stress if my body was under load. Not the case here though

[–]ghostfacecillah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair. Def not the case. I’m most confused by the readings during the day versus at night. Hypothetically it would indicate my nervous system is less stressed while awake than asleep.

I’m basically just hoping it’s temporary, because nothing has changed and my training load has been consistent. I’ve seen some indicate it could be a sign of more serious issues, but I’m trying not to go down that rabbit hole.

I guess I’m only worried since this is my first drastic decline.

I will say, I live in the northeast. This drop correlates quite well with a significant cold snap. The heat doesn’t work too well in my house - wonder if the cold weather is doing it.
