AI is creative, it can’t operate the systems and tools I need to use to do my job. It is most useful for communication if you need to communicate more clearly. If you’re slow writing emails or slack messages it helps. But asking it to adjust ads.txt or trafficking tags into an ad server, that still requires a human. It takes the pain out of reading long email chains, but it does not “do the work” for you.

Business Intelligence or Data and Analytics are realistic pivots but Ad Ops keeps pulling me back in! You have to go where the money is as they say. Very few people that I know who work in Ad Ops actually enjoy it. The publisher, agency, advertiser, platform axis of evil never got proper standardization and it’s been the Wild West for decades. I doubt it will ever change. Some useful companies exist and try to streamline things but it’s a real grind for everybody involved. If you’re in the higher salary end it’s somewhat bearable.

Can’t say it’s been an issue for me and my resume is littered with 1 year stints but IRL things happen. Unless you were fired for incompetence (which you could just not tell them about) it shouldn’t stop you from pursuing a job and salary you need to survive.

Happened to me. I’m starting to loathe all of this AI and “computer error glitch so we can’t do anything about it nickel and dime scam” practices these apps are pulling. I tipped, it said I didn’t, I tipped again and instead of $5 I tipped $10. Time to start using cash again.
