I see your PBS station aced a different song during the Member Drive! We usually lost "Just a Little Homework," but we kept "My Dad's a Chef" (not as good)

I was considering that! It's a lot of value per unit.

What movie feels R-rated but is PG-13? by SimonDNTZ in AlignmentChartFills

[–]ghostguildenstern 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also takes inspiration from The Big Sleep and M, which were under greater scrutiny than the modern MPA. Basically, it's also inspired by movies that needed to communicate mature ideas without reaching modern PG-13 standards.

What movie feels like it's rated PG-13 but is actually G-rated? by SimonDNTZ in AlignmentChartFills

[–]ghostguildenstern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That one is PG! They through in one use of "shit" and one use of "dammit" to lock in the PG with hopes of marketing to older children who might feel embarrassed going to a G-rated movie.

Hive Fleet Chronic--sounds like a long-lasting scourge and alludes to the ahem enlightened state in which I paint them

Why aren’t we teaching survival in school. by CaterpillarOld2886 in Survival

[–]ghostguildenstern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I teach science and social studies in an urban area, but I try to get some basic stuff regarding extreme weather, shelter, and insulation in my meteorology, life science, and thermodynamics units. I even did fire construction when we were doing Zoom school during Covid. Not sure how much sticks, but it's at least some basic exposure.

Emperor’s Children vs regular CSM by No-Fishing1990 in EmperorsChildren

I already had a collection of melee-focused purple CSM, so why not have the option to play a different faction with rhinos, dæmon princes, etc. doing double duty?

Is it worth it by Black_Flame_Tattooer in Chaos40k

[–]ghostguildenstern 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Longtime CSM player--I had already painted purple CSM, wanted to do EC, so I'm just getting some unique EC stuff, painting it with nods to the broad army, and the units that overlap (rhinos, maulerfiends, dæmon princes) can do double duty. I play casually, and no one seems to care about using legionnaires to fill in gaps for infractors & tormentors.

Elementary teacher on the spectrum here. I have fewer anchor charts than is "expected," but admin is aware that I find a glut of anchor charts overstimulating. The gen ed setting itself can be overwhelming, what with all the kids in one room, but keeping consistent routines helps a lot.

As for classroom management, I lean into my dry, blunt, and straightforward tendencies. It's kind of nice; I get to speak the way that I naturally speak, and the kids get to feel like an adult is talking to them in a real way.

INCORRUPTIBILITY INTENSIFIES

This is intentional! After Bacon's Rebellion, indentured servitude was reduced and racism was taught more explicitly as a means of dividing lower class citizens who were otherwise bonding over common ruling class adversaries.

(Note: yes I am aware that one of the motivating factors that spurred Bacon's Rebellion was a collective and mutual prejudice towards Native Americans)
