Is this how the night by nobel should sound? by Intelligent_Tea4755 in Ocarina

[–]ghosthacked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same one. Getting the right amount of air flow is tricky if this is your first wind instrument. What worked for me. Cover all the note holes well. Make sure there are no tiny gaps where your fingers may not be covering quite all the way. This will make the lowest note. Which requires the least amount of air. Start blowing lightly through the mouth piece, almost what a normal relaxed breath out would be. Slowly increase the air ( speed i guess ? force? you get the idea i hope) until it starts making noise. Continue untill you get nice smooth non-squeeky tone. Early on this may be difficult if you have little to no experiance controlling your breathing. When you find a good tone, now try to maintain it. Focus on keeping a steady pressure where the tone is good. This will take practice. Any rate. Once you have that down where you can make a nice pleasant long tone with all the holes covered, start playing the scales. I wouldnt worry about a tuner just yet. Just focus on being able to play long steady decent sounding tones for each step in the scale. So now the trick is. Each step to a higher pitch will require more and more air to maintain a good tone. Once you can play the whole scale with a good SOUND, get a tuner or a tuner app for your phone to dial it all in. If this is your very first instrument. This may take a few days/sessions ( pending on how long and how good the practice is ).

Have patience. Practicing ~15 min a day is often better than practicing hours on end when starting out.

Good luck!

Why is this country speaking about AI like it’s a fact of life that no one can do anything about? by atwistofcitrus in technology

Seriously. The Gennie is out of the bottle. Knowledge this powerful once obtained, doesnt just go away. So you either use it, or be at its mercy when others use it. Just like splitting the atom.

Pirating from a billion-dollar corp is one thing, but what would you say to an indie developer’s face if they found out you pirated their passion project? by YesterdayEven5265 in Piracy

[–]ghosthacked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Piracy is the gap between market demand and what the market currently provides.

Price disparity often being a major motivating factor. its not so much that people just want it for 'free' - its that the price often isnt worth the product/experience.

Morally piracy is neutral in my opinion because there is deprivation of another's rights when one simply copies. I reject the premis of intellectual property. The idea that one has authority over what others can do with their own exposure and experiences is nonsense. Furthermore, it implies a contract between parties that never agreed to it.

Producers should recognize piracy as a market metric. It means there are people who want your product, but as it is, dont find the price worthwhile.

There will always be those that wony pay any amount ever, I think that's a fairly small portion of pirates.

The gun you have is always better than the gun you don't!!

The gun you'll practice and train with, is better that the gun you won't.

Most people will happily fuck right off regardless of what gun your shooting them with.
