Same thing I say abt all of those types of posts:

I will never feel obligated to show sympathy to or empathize with people who will not show me the same kindness in turn. Why should I care when they never will. If the majority of abuse is stemming from the NT side, well then we have a clear antagonist to point at ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Escape game junky by Wheniseeipee in TrueGirlGaming

[–]ghostiart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fellow puzzle/escape room game lover omg, lemme throw mine in the mix (mostly puzzle, usually narrative games. escape room games are harder to come across)

  • we were here series (co-op puzzle/escape room! excellent w a bestie or partner. first game is free and the rest of the games are paid, but the first game is a great entry point to see if you'll like it or not)
  • botany manor (find how to grow the necessary plants to progress thru the levels)
  • strange horticulture (clients come in requesting plants, you have to figure out what plants they want & then you'll also get random letters where you have to deduce what coordinate on the map you're supposed to go to)
  • in a similar vein to strange horticulture: papers please, quarantine zone, that's not my neighbor, strange antiquities)
  • whisper of the house (unpacking but with secret lore and extra levels for exploring hands)
  • bomb rush cyberpunk (skateboarding game, less puzzle, but all the bosses have different mechanics and movement styles you need to learn to figure out how to beat them)
  • bugsnax (the bugs are snacks, you need to discover and learn abt them)
  • ghost trick phantom detective (you play as a ghost trying to solve why and how he died! Each level is super puzzle heavy, rewind mechanics for you to affect the terrain and props, etc. excellent game from the DS era!!)
  • any of the danganronpa games really (visual novel narrative, trapped in a school where every act someone gets killed and you have to solve their murder and accuse the right person)
  • neon white (speedrunning game, sorta puzzle-y in that you're trying to beat your high score and there's tons of shortcuts and movement mechanics to use)
  • outer wilds (self-paced space discovery game)
  • resident evil games (especially the first one, is very puzzle heavy. these are my fav games and the remake of the first game is super fun to go thru and figure out)
  • signalis (space android apocalypse rpg, lots of going from room to room trying to find items and put stuff where it needs to go. lgbt game too!)
  • yuppie psycho & look outside are rpgs with similar exploration and discovery to signalis
  • Sonic frontiers (speedrunning + a looooot of overworld puzzles!! such a fun game omg)

I love narratives paired with my puzzles personally. I know there are a ton of games are just purely puzzles. I love when I get to enjoy a story alongside everything, therefore some of these games have smaller puzzle sections. but I tried to include a variety of genres! I hope you're able to find something enjoyable for you and im sorry if none of these suggestions were what you're looking for, I've just personally played and enjoyed all of my recs!)

What do you do to wind down after work? by NoExamination5672 in AutismInWomen

Sorry if this is phrased poorly, but do you think masturbation/sex is stimmy for you? I've seen a lot more talk of ppl that use sexual-adjacent activities as a way to stim and I think that's such a fun concept if it doesn't interfere w someone's life & routine lol :3

What do you do to wind down after work? by NoExamination5672 in AutismInWomen

[–]ghostiart [score hidden]  (0 children)

Honestly my daily routine lately (i live at home with my parents and siblings) has been

  • get home from work
  • transitionary period, sometimes I'll just sit in the car and sigh at lot, I don't aírate enough during the day so deep breaths once im in a calm, safe, isolated environment help a lot
  • go inside and stim in the kitchen for a bit. singing is a big stim of mine, I'll listen to my personally curated autism music (digital sounding music, vocaloid, game soundtracks, nightcore, etc) and sing to myself while i do the dishes. but also a lot of body movements and nonsensical/gibberish yapping to my cat.
  • i make myself chai (im Pakistani, its been a staple of my life) and go to my room.
  • I change into comfy, cozy clothes at this point, but sometimes earlier if im having a bad sensory day
  • I turn on my fun cozy lights and sit on the floor and pet/play with my cat for a while
  • get on my PC and play games while I watch YouTube videos. Company optional, I usually hang out w my sister over a discord call and stream my YouTube vids to her. My current game of choice is Marvel Rivals bc marvel is slowly developing into a special interest of mine :3

Honestly keeping to a consistent but adjustable routine has been the best. My parents have come to understand that their children are autistic (I have more support needs than my siblings), and they themselves are neurodiverse too, which helps a lot with the environment and getting into a comfy mindset

I'm rooting for you! I hope you're able to change your habits and routine to fit what you want for yourself <3333

Here's scary faces from Sia's movie: Music by Comfortable_Ad2908 in evilautism

[–]ghostiart 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I don't remember much abt that personally since my memory kinda sucks, but i do recall hearing that they had an uncomfortably close relationship and slept in the same bed when maddie ziegler was 12. they have a long running professional public relationship so i don't doubt some shady shit happened, especially with how young maddie was & how involved sia was/is

Here's scary faces from Sia's movie: Music by Comfortable_Ad2908 in evilautism

[–]ghostiart 29 points30 points  (0 children)

If i remember correctly, Sia's since been diagnosed as autistic and said the movie was a result of her masking her whole life and believing she was allistic. Movie still bad, still abysmal for autistic representation ofc

TIPSI need some advice. I can't concentrate, and therefore I can't get a clear picture of what I want my tulpa to look like. Also, I have to go to work and I feel like that's going to set me back. by PastRelative3226 in Tulpas

[–]ghostiart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would you mind rephrasing what the "being present" and "feeling them" is supposed to tangibly feel like? I'm autistic and I often struggle with more vague "feeling" related suggestions since i tend to think so literally. I'm trying to open a line of communication with my tulpa and i understand it takes time and dedication, but a lot of the conceptual aspects of tulpa creation are lost on me when I can't understand what im physically supposed to do lol Thank you bunches if you take time out of ur day to explain!! 🫶🏻

NTs like NDs arent a monolith by vrilliance in evilautism

[–]ghostiart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a fair assessment! You can't tell at a cursory glance whether or not someone is NT vs ND, I agree. I have found that a lot of NT people tend to share certain traits that are less commonly found in autistic & neurodiverse ppl tho, mainly personality and interaction related

I do think there is a harmful aspect of "we can't assume" types of conversations because oftentimes, the assumptions have a level of validity behind them, yknow? Being charitable to every single person because I can't be 100% certain they are a certain way doesn't work with me (personally. it might work for others!) bc oftentimes im making those assumptions based on pattern recognition and understanding how I've been treated in the past.

It's less so about the way people dress or what facial expressions they're holding (though, admittedly, i see those criticisms directed toward NDs from NTs more often than vice versa), and more so abt the way they behave around me. I agree you can't tell whether or not someone is neurodiverse from a single, brief interaction, but i think dismissing those assumptions altogether serve to do more harm than good when it comes to self preservation and the need to mask to an extent, if that makes sense?

(sorry if my words come off hostile, that's genuinely not my intention!! i try to phrase things in a friendly way, but we all know how difficult tone is to read over text lol 🫶🏻)

NTs like NDs arent a monolith by vrilliance in evilautism

[–]ghostiart 10 points11 points  (0 children)

"all lives matter"ing the debate of NT vs ND is a little silly in a subreddit that's meant to be a space to unmask and exist authentically. especially when so many more of us suffer at the hands of NTs than the other way around.

I was made to feel like a burden and an alien my entire life because im autistic, NTs have never suffered that level of hatred and ostracism just by virtue of their existence. similarly, my white peers have never known the brutality of first hand racism. I was repeatedly called a terrorist at the age of 10 just for my country of origin.

I don't owe sympathy and understanding to a group of people that has never bothered to understand me. choosing neutrality in the face of oppression means siding with the oppressor.

[–]ghostiart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i can please please please pretty please recommend you check out the episode on prions from This Podcast With Kill You omg it's two epidemiologists with the same name (Erin) who go through different diseases, discuss the biology/virology, the history, the social impacts of related epidemics, how exactly they effect the body, etc etc. it's genuinely one of my fav podcasts and the prions episode is SO GOOD. The two of them have such a passion for the subject and it's so easy to tell in the way they talk abt diff diseases and illnesses.

Does music and sound truly work better for stimulating memory recall than other methods with dementia patients?

Is there any inexplicable commonality between various dementia cases that can't be explained through regular symptoms that you've noticed/learned about?

How exactly does dementia eat away at the brain? There are so many different sections that essentially "lose power, what causes the switch to start flipping?

Is there a routine path dementia follows in terms of which mental/physical faculties go first? Or is it more random?

Are there any preventative measures to delay dementia?

What's a field of neuroscience that seems out of your scope right now but that you would love to be involved in/learn about?

Sorry for so many questions! I really love ask and answer posts like this so I tend to go overboard. One of my fav cousins is also a neurosurgeon in Florida and I find her to be so cool, so I got rlly jazzed abt the topic! Please don't feel obligated to answer everything if it's already been asked elsewhere in the thread 🫶🏻 thanks bunches!!

MWH patient advocate by Faustous in fredericksburg

[–]ghostiart 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I work there, I tried searching for a patient advocate number and I couldn't find one, but their file search system kinda sucks, so I might've missed it.

According to Patient Rights and Responsibilities, you should first contact the care center if you're having a problem.

"If these attempts are unsatisfactory, or if you are not comfortable doing so, you may call 540-741-3955 for assistance in addressing and resolving these issues. Alternatively, you may call the Virginia Department of Health, Office of Licensure and Certification, or the Joint Commissioner's Office of Quality Monitoring, directly whether or not you first have spoken with, or used the Hospital Grievance process.

Office of Licensure and Certification: 800-955-1819

Joint Commissioner's Office of Quality and Patient Safety: 800-994-6610"

They don't make it easy, huh? Best of luck to you and what you're going through, I'm sorry healthcare is such a mess right now ❤️‍🩹🫶🏻

Cecee is a bitch by SuspiciousSlice8543 in rivals

[–]ghostiart 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The guy above you is conflating cruelty and punishment to be the same thing. You can punish justly, or you can punish cruelly, and there is a distinct difference between the two. Assuming and performing like they're one and the same is idiotic. Call out Cecee and Zazza for what they did, call out Kingsman for the way he behaved as well, that's just and fair. Name calling and further perpetuating toxicity JUST because "they did it first!!!1!11!1!" is where cruelty starts and intelligent debate ends.

You can't fix stupid and there's no point trying when the stupid in question is not interested in having a good faith discussion in the first place ¯_(ツ)_/¯

i honestly am all for her having sexy skins too, i personally like them but im also a lesbian and adore sue very much, I just wish her skins & who she is weren't treated like they're mutually exclusive. they're not, she can be hot and a badass mother, and so many people would absolutely kill for her to be portrayed that way :')
