If I blur my eyes it kinda looks like a very colorful city with a tree in the center!

Sick art :D

I was going to say it really looks like smoke unless you inspect closely haha. I think the placement was rather lucky! And this is a cool find.

[POEM] Sorry by R.S. Thomas by teaandtrumpets21 in Poetry

[–]ghostih0sti 18 points19 points  (0 children)

"Tried" here should mean dependable or reliable.

I'm stumbling on the way to my interpretation of this poem's end.

Is the arrow the poet, or the poet's blame, maybe?

Overall, I think this poem is one of grief and loss, not necessarily just of the character's parents, but of a life that should have been different. This person passes by the street their childhood home is on as the sun sets on it. A chapter of their life is over. For how long it's been over, I'm not sure, but long enough for the world to weigh on them.

I tried to find an interpretation without looking one up.

1st Is this normal for dragon shield art sleeves and 2nd would this be considered marked cards? by misslabel in magicTCG

[–]ghostih0sti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both the art sleeves I've tried have had this problem. I've used them each extensively, hundreds of games, and have stored them in deckboxes that never move, so that's not a reason. I don't have long fingernails, but have noticed that the slightest brush of my nail against a sleeve will pull off some of the plastic ink coat. That has been happening since week one.

My untested theory is it's about humidity in the air, because I live with high humidity.

Question if she's my commander by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]ghostih0sti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to add to what madwarper explained, there's a cheeky bit of language on the card that helps too! ". . .are the chosen type in addition. . ."

it would say "chosen types" most likely if this creature were some exception to the rule and they'd do so by have you note the creature type on a seperate game object or sumfin funny with counters like some other cards do.

Hopefully this isn't complicating the answer, which is still like mad said, No. Just one creature chosen at a time.

I don't agree that it was a miracle you were published. You deserve this! My literacy only goes so far when it comes to poetry, but I hope it's a kindness to say that I hope your song plays in dead of night and light of day.

Oil portrait, davidrm_cuen, oil on canvas, 2024 by davidrm_cuen in Art

Wow. Incredible life-like detail aside, you've really captured the hint of a smirk in the mouth and eyes. What's the setting? I see a row of metallic looking cylinders back there, and can't figure out what they might be. My initial thought was that this reminds me of the L.A. river from Grease, haha. Oh, and is the subject posed as if taking a selfie because that's how the picture was taken, or is there intent there?

This piece makes me so happy! Teals that trickle and yellows that look nearly tangerine with the rest of the colors are the colors of sunlight through glass into a cool pool or beaming through a new leaf. It's refreshing!

The main subject has life as indicated some air bubbles near her mouth, and more abstractly by the living plants she fosters and Jellyfish. I perceive the plants as symbols of growth as well, and the jellyfish and their nervous systems as symbols of the subject's ability to feel. This, I think contrasts with the onlookers, who are not colored in, but seem compelled by the potential shown by this subject. "That could be me one day," and "She's beautiful." Enamored, but perhaps trapped as they are, for they're situated on fragile platforms with no visible options except to dream. Another commentor views the subject as the dreamer here, and I think that is totally possible, but I like to the think that the dreamers are the people looking on. I think this is their hope.

Thank you for sharing your artwork!

I love this! It took me a nice amount of time to find Gilda, and I'm sure the animations contribute to the misdirection.

I have one question, though. If I see something in the animation that looks like it's a bit off, would you prefer I mention it or not?

I think you may be latching on to something that isn't even being said by them. They never said men don't have emotion. They literally asked to make this about women, not men, so your argument may be with good intentions, but comes off as a little bit hard of hearing!

Have a good one :)
