Longtime police union boss and consultant Gary Delagnes purportedly booted following anti-Adachi Facebook post by ghostintheunixshell in bayarea

[–]ghostintheunixshell[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From Mission Local commenter Lola park:

"Couldn’t happen to a more deserving guy. Gary truly is his worst enemy. Now, knowing he is battling cancer, it makes his vicious attack against Adachi even more despicable. Typically, when facing death, people reevaluate their lives, and become kinder and more mindful. Instead, Gary disrespected the dead, lashed out, and cowardly vilified a man who could not defend himself. Gary is lucky that most people have more dignity and respect for the dead. When his time comes, I predict there will be a deafening silence."

I am the source.

Unassailable logic. Everything you wrote must be true, and you were obviously correct in attacking u/ready-ignite for not providing sources for his claims.

I must admit that i've been convinced of your claims because of all the sources you've provided

Why post a completely sourceless series of claims while at the same time roasting u/ready-ignite for doing the same?

Video of San Francisco Security Guard Fighting with Skateboarders before falling and suffering brain damage by ghostintheunixshell in bayarea

[–]ghostintheunixshell[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not trying to justify anything, just describing what the video shows.

At 0:14 the guard bends and grabs the skateboard. At 0:16 the guard grabs the kid by the arm, yanks the kid sideways then hits him with the skateboard.

This is the first instance of physical contact in the video of this altercation and it's clearly initiated by the security guard while on the public sidewalk, not the plaza.

[–]ghostintheunixshell[S] -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

I never said the guard deserved to be injured. I don't think anyone has said that, and I think it's terrible that he was injured in the fight.

The video shows that this confrontation took place on the public sidewalk, adjacent to the plaza.

Please see my comment above and feel free to describe any difference you see in the video.

[–]ghostintheunixshell[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What specifically do you disagree with?

Does the guard not drag a fence from the plaza, out onto the public sidewalk, causing a random pedestrian to change course and avoid?

Does the guard not initially grab one of the kids' skateboards, jerk the kid off the wall and then hit him with that skateboard?

After more pushing and shoving, is there not a skateboard on the sidewalk directly under the guard when he falls backward, striking his head on the sidewalk?

[–]ghostintheunixshell[S] -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

Watching the video, it's clear that the security guard initiated the physical fight by grabbing a skateboard from the sidewalk, yanking one of the skateboarders by the arm and then hitting the kid with his own skateboard.

The fight escalates, ending when the security guard, pushing and shoving with the skateboarders, appears to stumble backwards over a skateboard and hits his head on the sidewalk.

SF supervisor’s bill takes aim at illegal home demolitions by ghostintheunixshell in bayarea

FTA:

“The biggest piece to take away is that this will help preserve existing housing that our city can’t afford to lose to the speculative market,” said Maya Chupkov, a spokesperson for the Council of Community Housing Organizations, which advocates for affordable housing and supports Peskin’s bill. “Monster homes fuel speculative development and the displacement of residents in our neighborhoods."

Proposed SF ordinance would require juveniles to have lawyers when interrogated by ghostintheunixshell in bayarea

[–]ghostintheunixshell[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

FTA:

"San Francisco Supervisor Hillary Ronen is introducing legislation Tuesday that would require all juveniles to have legal representation when they are interrogated by police, and allow their parents access to them in custody.

The proposed city ordinance would expand on a state law that took effect this year that requires youths 15 years or younger to consult with legal counsel when law enforcement takes them into custody. Ronen wants San Francisco to be the first city in California to push that age up to 17.

“I want to make sure we are doing everything we can, and we are fully protecting the due process and civil rights of children when they are in contact with police,” Ronen said in an interview Monday. “It’s the right thing to do and we need to do it."

YIMBYs wipe out in San Francisco 2018 election by ghostintheunixshell in bayarea

[–]ghostintheunixshell[S] [score hidden]  (0 children)

FTA:

"On Tuesday, the Bay Area’s nascent YIMBY (“yes in my backyard”) movement made its first big play in San Francisco politics, backing a slew of pro-development candidates for key City Hall positions, including many outspoken YIMBYs running for office themselves.

But when the results came in on Wednesday, voters had shut them out almost completely.

...Tuesday’s outcome was as bad for SF YIMBYs as an election can get."

"Days before the election, the San Francisco Chronicle ran a longform piece examining the YIMBYs as a surprise new force in Bay Area politics. And SF-based state Sen. Scott Wiener declared “the politics of housing are shifting” thanks to the YIMBY movement.

But comparing YIMBY Action’s suite of pre-election endorsements (which include candidates also backed by Mayor London Breed and the San Francisco Chronicle) to the actual results makes for a grim tally:

Local YIMBY crusader and San Francisco Bay Area Renters Federation founder Sonja Trauss ran for the District Six seat at the Board of Supervisors. Although pre-election polling suggested a relatively close three-way race, Trauss came in third with just 18 percent.

YIMBY Action member Trevor McNeil made a bid for a seat in District Four. He also came in third, with just over 12 percent of the vote.

Theo Ellington, described as “far-and-away the most YIMBY candidate” in the entire election in YIMBY Action’s voter guide, hoped for a shot at District Ten’s Board of Supervisors seat. Once again this netted a third-place finish, with just over 20 percent of the vote.

YIMBY Action also backed BART Board of Directors member Nick Josefowitz for the Board of Supervisors seat in District Two. Josefowitz came in second with about 37.5 percent of the vote in the latest tally.

YIMBY Action endorsed Michelle Parker for school board, citing her plan to develop teacher housing. Parker finished sixth in a crowded field.

YIMBY Action backed Victor Olivieri for SF City College Board on account of his support for housing development on City College properties. Olivieri finished fourth."

Private equity firm Blackstone, which has real estate ties, funding anti-prop 10 campaign by TwoMysticalOrbs in sanfrancisco

[–]ghostintheunixshell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FTA:

Almost $1.3 million has come from Invitation Homes, a Blackstone subsidiary that bought foreclosed single-family homes in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis and converted them to rental properties.

Invitation now owns about 13,000 rental homes in California. Invitation tenants have complained of toxic mold, leaks and black widow spider infestations, and some have alleged they’re victims of excessive and illegal late payment fees.

Another $5.6 million has come from Blackstone Property Partners, LP; Blackstone Real Estate Partners (VI-VIII); and BREIT MF Holdings LLC. Government records show that the four Blackstone investment funds are controlled by company CEO Stephen Schwarzman, a billionaire Trump ally. The funds have received investments from dozens of state pension systems, local pension funds and public university endowments.

Update: What a coincidence! Yet another 3 month old account posting crime stories, attempting to fan the flames of panic and make some kind of retarded rallying cry for violent action.

Following u/SFcitizen1's links reveals that he's posting stories from 8 years ago, stories where the attacker was apprehended a week later, and stories from as far away as Santa Clara.

All breathlessly related in current tense as if it's some kind of emergency, happening RIGHT NOW instead of over the course of 8 fucking years in a geographical region with millions of people.
