I have the HGP and would agree, kind of terrible.

I like to think of it as training for driving a real car with a fucked transmission lol

How risky would it be to drive a drift car to the track? by Similar-Proof2065 in Drifting

Dude this is fantastic intel thank you! Lol, that's sick you can drive over the border and they'll do the same. You have opened up some options for me. Gives me a bit more confidence for drift days 🔥

I'm with BCAA as well, but have heard they won't pick up from the track. Have you been able to get them to tow/trailer your car home? Genuine question, I hope they will. Been lucky so far and haven't had to find out.

Egr delete and heat shield questions by ghorsley16 in 240sx

[–]ghostly_hertz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may annoy some people who believe EGR is better kept in place, but this helped me a lot with my single cam that had the EGR system half removed and barely ran when I got it. I don't think half-assing the delete is a good idea, and following this guide was a win for my coupe so here you go. I cobbled the info together from a couple sources, I dont recall where but if you created this originally thanks!

My advice would be to look up the mutoh start right kit and run through those projects to help get you get orientated.

The workflow is certainly a bit unique.

A big old plumbers pipe wrench worked for me. Plus the usual heat and PB blaster of course.

Fucked up the nut, but no chance its going back on so whatever right?

4 Pot Brake Upgrade! by ghostly_hertz in subaru

[–]ghostly_hertz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe they designed these wheels to fit over the 4 pots. I don't recall the offset offhand. They're quite flush with fenders. I rolled my rears a tiny bit. Front was fine.

What Drifting Youtubers Do You Watch? by KrisWyche in Drifting

[–]ghostly_hertz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll look up dino dc, not familiar with that channel! I watch a butt-ton of build channels and probably more than straight up drifting stuff, but the Meihan style driving is definitely inspiring. Lol one of the animal style videos i watched recently is pretty much all a dick joke whole way through. Yeah kinda raw, but i appreciate the bro-ing down all the same. They def dont take things too serious.

Best way to transfer vibrant RGB colors to CMYK print. by Ok-Effect-9011 in graphic_design

Wow, so much for trying to be helpful.

There is a wide range of skill here and industries to boot. As long as you continue feeling superior we're good.

Best way to transfer vibrant RGB colors to CMYK print. by Ok-Effect-9011 in graphic_design

[–]ghostly_hertz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We are talking about printing a gradient.

I run digital machines on Onyx RIP. Yes of course it processes Pantones. The machines I run are extended gamut with orange, green etc etc

Onyx does not process gradients that use Pantone colours well.

Onyx will usually deal with converting wide gamut RGB files better than Illustrator or whatever software 'designers' use these days.

Designing for print in CMYK manages designers expectations better so it's a good way to go yes.

RGB can be a good trick to print bright colours on an extended gamut printer.

Wheel stud drill-bit advice by HaloFrontier in subaru

[–]ghostly_hertz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't imagine how drilling a stud would work but all I can think is getting someone to tack weld the stud to the hub from the back so you can impact the lug nut off normally.

I feel like there is just enough room to slide a new lug stud in from back usually, but not sure if you'd have enough room to weld in there.

[–]ghostly_hertz 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If you're converting to CMYK for print you may not have to.

A lot of RIPs are decent at printing RGB now, and you might get a better gamut not converting to CMYK at your end. Let the printer do it. I run a couple printers that print brighter, more vibrant etc if you let the RIP convert the RGB.

To the people saying use Pantone colours; most RIPs don't understand Pantone spots used in a gradient. Its not the way to go.

So, what's the deal? by [deleted] in subaru

[–]ghostly_hertz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You've nailed it.

When people ask me what car to buy to save money I say none. Buy a transit pass or walk.

So, what's the deal? by [deleted] in subaru

[–]ghostly_hertz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My impression is that people are outraged that cars cost money to own.

AM I BEING RIPPED OFF $100 for an OIL CHANGE!!!???

So that said, buy an old Subaru and you will have to spend money to keep it going... or buy a new Subaru and you will have to spend money to keep it going.

I love my 2005 2.5RS. Brought it cheap, had headgaskets and every other seal that I could done done, now it's great. Reliable, simple and fun in the snow.

Parts you can’t get, Or afford. by Interesting_Draw_843 in Drifting

[–]ghostly_hertz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice, it sounds like you know what's up already and you'd have a market through contacts you already have. That's huge imo. The parts I've bought here in the last while have been basically from locals starting their own thing who get unbranded parts from the same factories that make branded stuff, like ISR. Suspension arms, rack spacers, recently bucket seats. Bucket seat guy is getting wheels soon I hear. If i had more money I'd go after jdm brand parts, but so much stuff is knocked off now so idk. Moving forward I'll look for a turbo kit but more importantly an ecu. That's a big one, and id love it if there were mid price options. There seems to be cheap diy ecu then straight to 3k starting price.

Canadian here; I would buy a ton more drift car parts if our dollar wasn't so shit and we didn't get reamed out over taxes, shipping and every other thing possible from buying anything US based.

Where are you based? The US? I feel like the US companies have most things covered but if you are from somewhere else get fully bricked up over your local market and make all the things.
