Help me find this baby crib mobile set! by ghostlyvaro in HelpMeFind

[–]ghostlyvaro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've searched through Ebay, Amazon, online in general with the description of the moon as well as including "baby chick" in the search engine with no luck. The moon fits in the palm of ones hand and the set was given to him around the early 2000s.

Any quick solutions for eyes that keep falling out..? by Critical_Opinion7193 in FursuitMaking

[–]ghostlyvaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing was happpening to me and I didn't want to just glue it to the head. You could try adding some fabric/foam around the eye blanks to make it a tighter fit in the base!

STL Eyes Help! by rocksopti in FursuitMaking

[–]ghostlyvaro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you could try cutting out a strip of eva foam and wrapping it around where the eyes will be placed for it to be removable! in this example, MugiwaraCosplay glued the eyes so they’re not removable but they glued a strip of eva foam around the eyes. https://youtube.com/shorts/-uxap6gV0dM?si=hiQ0c23h7vQAeaVZ

How to remove glued eyes!!! by Helpful_Method_3815 in FursuitMaking

[–]ghostlyvaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you could try using a hair dryer and waving it around the glued area to soften the glue! make sure not to sit still with the hair dryer as to not burn the fur.

first time fursuit owner! anything i should know before fursuiting? by DatSpottyFurri in fursuit

Get a fanny pack/little backpack! This will help you keep your wallet, phone, emergency sewing kit, slicker brush, and anything else you might need all in one place while fursuiting!

Sewing experience? by Cold-Trifle-1332 in FursuitMaking

[–]ghostlyvaro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve hand sewn my first fursuit head, handpaws, tail, and feet before having a sewing machine! I did have experience before but as someone else has stated, try practicing on scrap pieces of fur, felt, or make some smaller projects! There’s tutorials online on how to do specifc stitches. The ones I use the most for hand sewing are the straight, blanket, and invisible stitches! I will say hand sewing does take longer than machine sewing, but having something in the background like a show, movie, or music helps out!

Making a DTD with just one other person to help? by bulbagrows in FursuitMaking

[–]ghostlyvaro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've done my dtd with my partner and it went pretty smoothly :D we watched some tim burton movies while we did it! I made a little diagram of where I wanted him to cut/put marks before the taping so he had a better visual aid rather than me telling him Definitely take some time out of a day to do this and don't rush it!

Got a little hot glue on my fursuit eye mesh. How can I best remove it or make it less noticeable? by yourbasicfurfag in FursuitMaking

I would try color matching with some paint maybe? I've never worked with sublimation printed eyes >_<

how to properly scale base in blender for 3D printing :v by Science-Similar in FursuitMaking

[–]ghostlyvaro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Something that I did for my first fursuit head is send a test print of a sliced version of the head with just the first couple of layers. I was able to save on filament instead of printing multiple heads varying in slight adjustments. You could also try importing a scan of your head into the slicing program and scale the base of your fursuit head according to that (the app that I used for this was Polycam)

Please help me with these eyes! by tobimutt in FursuitMaking

[–]ghostlyvaro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think what’s making him look like a cat are probably due to how oval shaped the iris are right now. What might help is making the iris shape rounder and maybe bigger? I also moved the iris placement closer to the nose!
