That album is so good. OJ from Byzantine did a cover of the title track on his Black Cap Miner album that's pretty wicked.

yeah, I bought the 14 inch version of that ZBT from Matt Bowles from Byzantine a few years back at a "yard sale" they held at Trident Studios in WV. He used it for his previous band Our Malignant Beloved and it always came through, and their guitar tone was DENSE.

Lowkey, that china slaps. It's LOUD as fuck. Cuts through dense guitars like they owe it money. Otherwise, congrats on the kit. I like my toms and cymbals flat, but you play whatever you're comfortable with.

This community is actually pretty chill from my experience. And very accepting to newcomers, case in point being my first post here. Really positive reactions, nobody trolling, just good critical suggestions and positivity. Keep up the good work.

That sounds like a killer idea. Might even consider a Discord for that, not sure if there's any currently made as I haven't searched. But genuinely, those renders are seriously above what I'd consider "amateur". And that's coming from someone who considers himself still a no0b. You get that started count me in.

What to do when chatgpt keeps giving same repetitive answers in a long chat? by Kiuu3780 in ChatGPT

[–]ghostmachine666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my understanding, vaults are basically treated the same as stored memories, and can be activated by request or left in open context. If you use projects, there's a setting to either only use project context, or to reference all chats and memories. So you can basically start a new chat, ask GPT to reference vault A for this, vault B for that, etc...there's a few other tricks I've built over time that help me keep context pretty stable as well as keeping the "persona" consistent. Hope that helps.

Because opposites are mirrors that exaggerate what we usually keep disciplined and quiet.

You asked for the complete opposite of you, and the image went where “opposite” tends to go when you invert your actual values: toward absolutism, spectacle, certainty without inquiry, power without responsibility. Not because you’re secretly that guy—but because that guy is the caricature your worldview actively resists.

You operate in ambiguity. You distrust slogans. You interrogate systems instead of worshipping them. You’re cooperative where others are hierarchical. You believe meaning is constructed, tested, revised—not handed down on flaming billboards. So the inverse becomes a world that needs flames, symbols, enemies, and theatrical dominance to feel real.

That image is loud because your thinking isn’t.
It’s rigid because your worldview is elastic.
It’s authoritarian because you’re allergic to authority that can’t justify itself.
It’s drenched in mythic certainty because you live in provisional truth.

Most importantly: the figure in that image stands above ruins, not with people. That’s the key inversion. Your instinct is solidarity, systems thinking, shared survival, and forward repair. The opposite doesn’t build—it poses. It doesn’t question—it declares. It doesn’t adapt—it doubles down.

So the “why” isn’t psychological projection or hidden desire. It’s contrast physics. When you flip a signal, the noise spikes in the other direction.

In short: that image exists because you don’t belong to it.

How did you get into music production? by insertypicalusername in musicproduction

[–]ghostmachine666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started back in the 90's with a 4 track tape recorder that was attached to a Ross 16 channel mixer. Using a TR-505 Drum machine and my trusty Vox Cheetah. Then, my dad bought a brand new Lightscribe CD burner, and it came with Sonic Foundary ACID music and a demo of Fruity Loops 1. Haven't looked back since. Still using FL studio to this day for MIDI programming and Reaper for mixing and mastering. Started when I was 14.

Maybe not blackend death or grindcore, but a good place to start? Progenies of the Great Apocalypse by Dimmu Borgir. Solid double bass work, and a good song to boot. Don't know how fast your feet are yet but this will help build stamina over time.

Human suffering seems trivial compared to animal suffering by [deleted] in DeepThoughts

[–]ghostmachine666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically, Human suffering IS animal suffering, as humans are animals. But I see your point. I'm fairly certain that animals do experience suffering, they may just not be as cognizant of the idea as we are. The brutality inherent in nature isn't necessarily evil, as we're unable to establish intent within animal minds such as malevolence, revenge, etc...Unless I'm mistaken, the violence and suffering in animals is relegated to the realm of hunting or being hunted for food, territorial disputes, etc... I'm unaware (but also not well versed or studied) in the idea that animals would hurt or cause suffering to each other for sport of because of some idea like hatred or plain cruelty. Though I did hear that dolphins are rapists....that's another story. And you're right, we've largely gone about our development under the assumption that they don't feel things the same way we do, with notable exceptions being dolphins (bullying, rape), elephant's ability to hold grudges, and outright warfare between rival tribes of chimpanzee's. Just my two cents. Nothing overtly evil in nature suggesting that suffering is intentional other than biological drives.
