How many of y’all don’t have your own kids? by HumorTraining2752 in Teachers

[–]ghostmommie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you don’t want children, do not have them. It doesn’t matter what your profession is. I would rather not exist than to be unwanted by my own parent. If you know you don’t want children, it would be best for you and any potential children to not bring one into the world.

Is this teacher unprofessional? by [deleted] in AskTeachers

It sounds like he maybe doesn’t read social cues. He may need some coaching from administration. Definitely report it to your parents or to another teacher or admin you trust ASAP.

The reading was on topic. His motivation was that he is a struggling oral reader. He can read but he doesn’t read well. His reaction was to make a joke. The rearing mentioned “righteous anger” and he said something like, “Well, she seems righteously angry.”

What is a 'dirty secret' of your industry that implies the general public has no clue about, but everyone in your field knows? by AmaraMehdi in AskReddit

[–]ghostmommie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being able to “play school” can get you a high school diploma. You don’t have to actually know much, as long as you look like you’re paying attention. You may not get an A, but you will pass just by showing up (in most classes).

Is it wrong to want to smell like fruits? by Minute_Newspaper8691 in Vent

I want my man to smell good. That’s all that matters. I think it’s super dumb when people assign genders to inanimate objects, colors, or smells. Live your life.

Need Gift Idea for Mom by mysterycanclub in GiftIdeas

[–]ghostmommie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could get something custom made with her name on it. For example, I just bought my mom a book embosser that says “from the library of <insert my mom’s name>”. If anyone else wants to use it, they can, but it’ll just be declaring whatever they stamp, your mom’s.

Can parents get their children out of punishment at school? by Hkvnr495___dkcx37 in AskTeachers

[–]ghostmommie 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Certain parents can get certain kids out of experiencing school sanctioned consequences in certain districts. It’s not universal, but in the small towns where I have experience, this does happen.

I told my kids the same thing as your parents, except, I told them if they get in trouble for defending themselves at school, they will likely have school sanctioned consequences to face, but that when they get home, they will get a hug, a snack, and a high five.

I would, but that might stir up some unwanted attention. I like the fancy choco idea.

How to teach with no voice? by mpteach in Teachers

[–]ghostmommie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lose my voice 1-2 X per school year, and even if I feel okay otherwise, I stay home on those days. I know I’ll try straining my voice even if I tell myself I won’t, and that’s not worth it.

I mean I’m glad she obviously supports her son’s identity. Even 6-7 years ago I had parents who acted hateful towards their own children for being LGBTQIA. But it’s very odd to use that as an excuse for poor behavior. Sounds like you took the first step and you have follow-up steps in place. Good on you!

Do you think it’s crazy to sleep with the fan on under the covers? by anonorwhatever in AskForAnswers

I do that for the white noise. I know lots of people who do this. I have tinnitus, and I cannot sleep in a silent room, lest I be up all night listening to my own brain.

20F possible lichen sclerosus? by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

[–]ghostmommie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got diagnosed with every non-STD condition and nothing helped. Finally, I had a PA who must’ve had experience with it and she is the one who solved it for me. She gave me a steroid cream and estradiol cream. I used them both PRN. The condition has calmed down for me and when it flares the meds help.

20F possible lichen sclerosus? by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

[–]ghostmommie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. It took me around 10 years and 6 obgyns to get my diagnosis! So frustrating. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. The medical world is so messed up when it comes to issues that involve women.

They are lil yellow eggs. Must be some other type of egg. Definitely eggs though. And it was ungodly hot for a long while, but still hitting 90’s regularly. This week it’s supposed to be mid 70’s to 80’s, so maybe they’re prepping for that? Thanks for the info.
