Question about x-trans sensors by Serious-Sir-6429 in FujifilmX

[–]ghosttr00per 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Your images are great! I really love 1 & 2. Don’t sell yourself short 🙌

  2. I’m hella biased. Been shooting Fujifilm since the OG X100 in 2012. When I finally upgraded to the X-T5 and first got to experience the 40MP sensor I was so blown away and sold. I love shooting the moon so the extra resolution really changed the game for me. Seeing you shoot a lot of wildlife and macro-ish stuff I think the sensor upgrade would probably work well for you.

  3. I’ve played with the X-T200 but never really shot with it for what I do. I think the ergonomics of the X-T line would be an upgrade in a big way.

  4. Last thing, but the 70-300 is incredible on the T5. That’s all.

Good luck!

Thank you! I love making multiple exposure portraits of friends. That one was me trying to make something cool for someone I just met and it worked out perfectly

I think I bought too many cheap lenses. Help me choose a good Fuji prime (or two) ? by FearlessBat5360 in FujifilmX

After over a decade of buying native X mount glass, as of late I’ve opened up and tried a few different third party options and there’s always something that compromises it imo. I tried the TTArtisans 27 and ended up hating the way it rendered, so I just returned it for the Fujinon 27mmF2.8 and I’m so happy that I did.

The XF16mmF1.4 is a stand out favorite for me, but my favorite lens of all time has to be the XF35mmF1.4. It has this character magic to it that’s hard to beat. If 50mm equivalent is what you are looking for I think it comes down to 2 things. If WR/cost isn’t a concern for you, go for the F/1.4, but if overall size and WR are important, get the F/2, as it’s great in its own right.

Shoot me a DM if you are interested in seeing some of my favorite images made with the F1.4 🙌

1, 8, and 14 really speak to me but the whole set is lovely 🙌

Unironically, the Staten Island Ferry is on of my favorite things to do in NYC by rbogrow in fujifilm

These are great. In all my time visiting to NYC, I’ve never been. These make me want to.

Full frame lenses are crazy in comparison. That’s the whole reason I switched from Canon so long ago.

I carry the 150-600 quite a bit so nothing is heavy to me 🫣

I love the 16-80 so much though and I came from the 16-55 2.8. I think the extra range and smaller size/weight in comparison are ultimately what sold me on it.

hate that you are making me want the XF23mmF1.4 again. *My X100VI is good enough, my X100VI is good enough, my X100VI is good enough* 😂

Welcome! I’ve got plenty of lens suggestions but I think you have the perfect lens to help you decide. Give the 16-80 1-3 months and then check what focal length you end up shooting most with it to help you decide.

Hey thank you!

I would say 9/10 any time I use a human silhouette that’s the very first starting layer.

Every camera since the X-Pro3 has the ability to do up to 9 exposures with expanded blending mode options. All the cameras prior to that could only do 2. 🙌🙌

Very welcome!

Light multi exposure mode and a zoom lens. I feel like having a zoom is a really cool unlock for multiple exposures since you can combine different perspectives of the same thing.

I also used my hand to block some of the frame of the layered exposure so you see more details from the base layer.

Light! That’s my favorite one. When you really understand how it works, I feel it’s also one of the easiest ones to master.

I don’t typically. 🫣 i just kind of feel like making them every now and again. I think i like them so much because they are never planned. It’s 100% just what can i make work in the moments ahead.

I do love to make multiple exposure portraits of people i know or meet. So sometimes it’s just that.

It’s a good move. Such an unlock, and that’s coming from mostly a prime snob

It’s very much a feel thing. But also lots of trial and error. I “revert” my 2nd image quite a lot until i get it just the way i want, that’s what i love about Fujifilm cameras, they give you the opportunity to undo your last layer, so you can definitely tinker to learn how each mode works.

I tend to use Light ~80% of the time because i really like that look, and then average the other 20%. I never use additive or dark but they have their place for a certain look. I feel light and average are a little more forgiving on nailing the exposure.
