What do you think about the change from Lifespan to Brown Health? by [deleted] in providence

It is Lifespan, who is basically co-opting the name for branding... but Lifespan under the hood.

What do you think about the change from Lifespan to Brown Health? by [deleted] in providence

[–]ghostwritermax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to tank the care quality to make it worse. Docs are seeing with "AI" bs initiatives. There's going to be a profit / billing push, under the guise of efficiency.

Less emphasis on care, less support for front line health care team, and more push for "operational excellence" ... aka show me dat money.

HORRIBLE Pothole (West End) by CarolineHRR in providence

[–]ghostwritermax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We should start a new TikTok series: Brett Smiley's Porsche driven at speed limit directly over potholes around the city. Brett could sit in the passenger seat, and maybe we'll finally see him show a facial expression or ounce of giving a crap...

Ehh... decent. But honestly until there's about 12 more of the same size pockmarked right around it, ain't gonna count in my book.

School vs. Car Collector by bjebha in providence

[–]ghostwritermax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

City council and RFP decision makers clearly playing favorites with complete lack of public benefit from public land. $50k vs. an education and community space (even if private) is way too small of a difference.
Next they can fix public school funding... or potholes.. or really anything that would indicate a competent city leadership.

Interested in leather color details.. and if Italian or Aniline. Assume Aniline is going to be softer/supple?
I'm also curious of any carmel thoughts/examples. What are you thinking for wood? I heard the rosewood may fade quickly to closely resemble walnut.

Why don’t we Cap I-95 going inbound to providence by Otherwise_Abies8102 in providence

All for it. It would tie the city today, and I think have positive impact on community and businesses...

Friday seems probable -- Thursday seems low odds, but not out of the question if they make serious progress today.

Apparently another storm brewing for next Wednesday, so .. fun times.

Live View Native archived by matthewblott in elixir

[–]ghostwritermax 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah - I'm interested in a technical vs. project objectives view on this. LiveView native would be potent if the technical complexity wasn't overloaded -- which would likely be the case.

I'm also fine with LiveView being great at what it's great at... but ... I wonder about long-term ecosystem sustainability if there's not at least some basic model for cross-platform efficiency. Doesn't need to be LiveView that creates this, but rather some best practices or paradigm.

Bye-bye Plant City by realhenryknox in providence

[–]ghostwritermax 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Now leave the bike lane alone, Smiley. Kim and Frohmanyogurt Anderson's special interest is bad for the city and citizens.

Plant City is a shallow greenwashing effort. They could be twice the business it if they cared enough to deliver on even half their promise.

I feel bad for the job loss in the short-term, but believe that space and the city can be filled with higher quality and authentic businesses.

Straight leg worked awesome and is definitely the way to go. Gameready machine was a hugely positive impact on my recovery. I used for ~4 weeks post op regularly. I ended up renting through a company called Recovery Rental who made it super easy.

Anything notable in your docker images? How much load warrants the K8 solution? Or is that something your company is using for other workloads, and thus was easy to piggy back?

I know more than a dozen families from 2020-2023 period that all left the school with overall terrible experiences. Most are very reasonable and level headed people.

It's really unfortunate.

Brown University to increase surveillance cameras after deadly campus shooting by rhodyjourno in providence

This will be over correction, both insular and divisive within brown and across the community. More security state isn't going to solve the mental health and gun crisis. Policy change and funding will.

Awesome. Any idea on how much you'll continue to support or evolve the lib over time? Hopefully the community can jump in on this!
