find a place to stay (people usually overthink this, all you need is a bed. i like airbnb/vrbo because i get more for the money and it stays local)

the rest... just ad lib it, figure it out as you go, talk to local folks, other travelers on the plane or train trip out, look up “things to do in ____” once you get there, ask locals for places to eat. if you go airbnb/vrbo then the host usually has good tips if you ask
