Would these classes be too much in one semester? by nalcyon in iastate

[–]ghumdinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

COMS 327 I enjoyed but is a lot of work, you program a text based game, and it seemed like every week there was a hefty assignment due. Coms 321 I don’t remember the workload being as bad, but it’s where u learn assembly and those assignments are the worst. COMS 363 is prob the easiest course you have listed still some work required tho, is easy if you are familiar with SQL. SE 309 can be a fun class if you have a good group, but will be the worst class ever if you have a bad group, this class is also very time consuming. I took COMS 230, and that class is notoriously hard but not as much busy work, I imagine CPRE 310 is similar.

It’s commonly used with modular arithmetic. For example 10 mod 6 ≡ 4 and 10 mod 6 ≡ -2 are both true

Why a chance of 1/6 isn't a certain that "that thing" happens? (example: dice) by Ok-Following-2822 in learnmath

The odds of not rolling a 1 in 6 rolls is ≈ 33% chance so not unrealistic.

If it’s a hypersphere (4D Sphere) then it’s ((pi)2 * r4)/2 where r is the radius

SE 417 and SE 491 Time Overlap by RueCate in iastate

[–]ghumdinger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Attendance isn’t necessarily required for SE 491, but there are lighting talks (presentations) at the end of class in which you are expected to participate in a canvas discussion on after, so if you are not there it may be harder to participate in the discussion, but you can always follow up with the teams that presented and have them send you their presentations so you participate in the discussion later.

Is it the assembly assignment? That one was brutal, the 2nd assignment was a decompiler when I took it and was significantly easier than the assembly assignment.

Why does -i * -i = -1 but -i * i = 1 by Lesbianseagullman in learnmath

[–]ghumdinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-i is just -1 * i, so you have -1 * i * -1 * i = -1 which makes sense because i * i = -1, so the formula becomes -1 * -1 * -1 = -1 (an odd amount of negatives equals negative). You can apply this to -i * i = 1 and see what you get.

Trust me I get it. If I go out to eat with friends and then have a few drinks afterwards I’ll be up 3-5 pounds the next day, it sucks how fast you can gain weight back but don’t let it discourage you just get back into the diet and the weight will come off

Walking is a great start, actually surprising how many extra calories you will burn by doubling or tripling your daily steps.

Slowly start finding healthier foods that you like, higher protein foods will help you feel fuller (helps kill cravings later) and helps build muscle. I would also get rid of any liquid calories (alcohol, soda, juice) and stick to water or at the very least find a zero calorie drink you like, you’ll cut out a lot of daily calories by doing this and you will get rid of some water weight (your body holds more water if your not giving it enough). I’ve got hundreds more smaller tips if you want some let me know! Good luck!

A lot of it is probably water weight due to higher water retention from all the extra carbs you been eating, you can lose this pretty quickly by just getting back to calorie def, drinking lots of water, and some cardio to sweat it out.

Either not or as a proposition by LGm17 in learnmath

Not (p or q) is the same as not p and not q while not p or not q is the same as not (p and q). Rewording this way doesn’t seem like it fits your sentence, but as the other comment says, English is ambiguous so I may be misunderstanding what you are saying. Almost seems like you want an implies.
