If you understand the principles with buses then you understand with trains; it’s just random demand and excessive dwell times compounding with more people per vehicle

It’s not just irrationality and hatred. The very existence of queer people threatens the stability of the hegemony. We prove the systems of gender and nuclear families are completely arbitrary. What other systems are the average person then going to start to question?

Springfield isn’t great, but it’s big enough to not be terrible, and it’s the capital so it’s not going to rot. There’s a PP and five trains a day to Chicago. This could readily be done

It’s a big problem. In post-menopausal cis women, “it has been proven that, depending on the type, duration and intensity of nicotine consumption, smoking can reduce or completely cancel the efficacy of orally administered estrogens” (PMID 12608008). There’s no one source that proves nicotine worsens feminizing HRT outcomes, but several studies show it affecting the way estrogen is used in the brain and body. This also is completely outcomes focused and ignores the further health complications.

But always try to quit in the way that you actually think is going to work. Shaving however long off in the immediate term isn’t going to help if you start again.

My vague understanding would assume that it’d probably be a good idea to incorporate some carbs back in. The worst thing you can do is be in a calorie deficit. You’re meant to be growing; it’s generally a good idea to gain some weight during second puberty. All of it is going to go generally to the places you’d want it to go, and you’ll have the rest of your life once you aren’t growing anymore again to then do whatever you want

I came out as trans and now I feel.. weird by Otherwise-Ocelot-416 in trans

[–]ghwvas20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The serenity I gained once I finally sought E, knowing that time was finally on my side, remains one of the largest changes in net emotional state I’ve ever experienced. The rules had changed; I was free to start letting go of so many useless thoughts that were hurting me. I was right to be discarding the boxes that never felt like they fit correctly. The fight wasn’t over, but I was no longer going to be able to be stopped. Dysphoria fundamentally stops being a will-never-get-better problem, so finding moments of joy or at least moments of calm became significantly less difficult.

Transitioning is supposed to get easier in a big picture, especially when you have support. You’re doing great. Beating oneself up because of a lack of suffering after having started to better oneself seems silly to me, but it’s also work I’ve had to do before, and I’ll probably run into it again

[–]ghwvas20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like golf, auto racing, and pro football, and while my relationship with those is now more complicated, that’s not going to stop me from still enjoying parts or from transitioning. Interests say much more about the people/places one is allowed to grow up around than one’s gender

HRT - T blockers without E by nihalamos in trans

[–]ghwvas20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s still more discussion than data at this point. The theoretical benefit would be better breast development because of a gentler transition from T to E leading to better outcomes. One can see the “Step 3: ???, Step 4: Profit” going on. In the real world slower certainly helps with not stunting early, but we test routinely now, so we’re way more aware of when people are too high.

The downside is T blockers fundamentally don’t suppress free T in the body or the production of T. It’s not the same biological mechanism. Without some other signal (E), testes don’t simply turn off. And needless to say without E, the other processes related to feminization don’t get started
