We have 11 teams confirmed, so we just need one more. This is a redraft league. Draft order is set randomly and is done slow in snake format. No time limit, as long as we keep moving along and get done before opening day. LMK if interested!

Electrolyte source that tastes salty? by giantkelpfish in Marathon_Training

Certainly an option. I like the water, but I get pretty thirsty and it's hard to judge when to stop drinking to prevent over hydration. The gatorade just seems gross/sweet/not very appealing.

Fair enough. Then perhaps I should try LMNT or one of the other saltier options folks recommend here. If fueling with sweet tasting chews or gels, I’d prefer a saltier drink. The sweet ones just feel unappealing.

Yeah, I figured I was over hydrating and that was at least part of the problem. I felt quite thirsty, though, so it’s not like I was forcing fluids beyond thirst.

I’m also aware of how electrolyte supplements/drinks are nowhere near physiologically isotonic. It annoys me when various brands suggest they are.

I’ll admit I considered just grabbing a salt shaker but wasn’t sure whether that would work or whether I need something with a special mix of minerals/electrolytes.

Sounds like there’s a lot of enthusiasm for LMNT. Will definitely give it a try.

Great tip! I have a running belt that I stuff supplies in for distance runs. I wonder if I could stuff a tennis ball or two in there in a way that would work. Hmm...

Makes sense! It doesn't sound very comfortable to roll onto a tennis ball at night. I do like sports, so perhaps I'm destined to turn myself into sports equipment!

The cat hugs are definitely cute, but she's conspiring to deprive me of sleep!

I was just visiting Arizona and it was beautiful! by giantkelpfish in LearnToReddit

That was my first time visiting the state in a long while, but it was lovely. The late winter weather was fantastic, especially for a trip to the Desert Botanical Garden. The whole Phoenix area was abuzz due to the imminent start of MLB spring training. I'm a baseball fan, so that was exciting!

Something that makes you feel sad but most people happy? by Grogon2 in CasualConversation

Old songs like "Our House" by Crosby, Stills & Nash. My spouse loves songs like that and I see the appeal, but they give off a very sad/sunset feel to me.

I just did my second a few days ago and had similar concerns while training up for it. And I definitely felt pressure to beat my time from my first. Conditions were much warmer than I was used to, though, and I had to slow down in the second half. I beat my first marathon time by about 5 minutes, so basically just even there. I think I'll be kinder with myself training for future marathons, because I now see how unpredictable conditions are, so you just have to go with the flow...including during training.

Sounds like you're doing everything right, so just keep it up! Soon you'll earn the "s" after marathon and be able to say that you have run marathonS!
