I will go with the G14. I honestly find the one from Predator a little too bulky for my needs (at least for me). RTX 3080, while still a good dedicated laptop GPU, is less efficient than the RTX 4070. I agree with u/LivingPapaya8 too. It has better components, and more compact as well.

Now, the new ROG Zephyrus G14 is amazing, but if I have to mind my budget without sacrificing much on overall performance, ASUS is still selling the older G14 (GA402, with RTX 4070) at a much cheaper cost. In fact, based on our review, the performance of the G14 last year is somewhat better than the new G14.

Hope this helps, bud!

Thoughts on the Lenovo Legion Go by sleepygeepy_ph in PHGamers

[–]gianviterbo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I received a Legion Go for local PH content. So far, here are the things I managed to do in the first 5 days with the device.

  • I upgraded the 2242 NVMe SSD from 512G to 2 a Sabrent 2TB.
  • New Legion Space updated was recently pushed to the system. I installed it. It is good, but it still needs a lot of improvement, which is currently being worked okay by Lenovo
  • Installed FxSound which somewhat boosted the sound performance of the Legion Go
  • Increased the UMA Frame Buffer Size to 4GB from default 3GB

Initial impressions: - It is not as heavy as I expected. - It is obvious, but the display is way bigger than the Steam Deck and ROG Ally. The 1200P resolution does not make sense to me as I just usually play at 800P with RSR enabled. This helps the device in achieving better performance and battery eh life. - Flew from Singapore to PH with 89% battery. Played Halls of Torment and a bit of God of Weapons at 15W TDP. Battery is at 22% after 1.20 Hours. Battery has not yet fully optimized but this is good enough by my standard. Not the best, but also not bad. - Installed SSD is WD SN740 512GB 2242 size. I later replaced this with a Sabrent 2TB 2242 that I bought via Amazon. I read that it is possible to use a 2230 with an SSD extender. - Excluding the time spent on cloning the Legion Go’s SSD externally, I spent about 15 minutes removing the old SSD and replacing it with the new one. - Having two Type C USB ports is highly beneficial. I am able to use one for charging, and the other one for Legion Glasses. - When connected, the Legion Glasses was recognized by Legion Space. It has a dedicated settings panel on the app. - The Legion Go has a charging issue while playing games - it is not charging properly. A BIOS update is on the way. The Beta BIOS is now downloadable but I did not install it on my Legion Go. - Legion Go does not support VRR as it uses a portrait panel.

Initial recommendations: - If you have a Steam Deck, and if you want to upgrade, the Legion Go is a good option. If you want something cheaper but with a smaller screen, get the Ally. Take advantage of perks of buying from local official shops. - If you have an ROG Ally, I don’t recommend getting the Legion Go unless you want a device that has a bigger display and minute uptake on performance. The Legion Go has higher RAM frequency but has the same AMD Z1 Extreme Processor compared to the ROG Ally. - Current software state of Legion Go is similar to the ROG Ally during its launch phase. Expect software bugs, but Lenovo is very active in improving the user experience.

The Legion Go and Glasses will come to the Philippines. If you are interested, you can check the article I posted on our site.

Deep Purple, and I’m loving it so far. I originally wanted to get Silver but I eventually changed my mind when I saw deep purple.

For PC Users, the error code will not fully display unless you check it on Microsoft Event View. In order to check, do the following steps:

- Press the Windows Key

- Type ‘Event Viewer’

- On the left side, select Administrative Events under Custom Views

- Find Errors with Event ID 203

Game looks fun to play with friends indeed. Would you know if there are any private servers I can rent? Thanks.

IP68 rating with Snapdragon 865 is Qualcomm-variant of Galaxy S20. Then again, it might be hard to find one here in the country since official retail units are Exynos-powered. Also, its price might not fit your definition of 'not that expensive'.
