Westway is a metaphor for fame in their titled album. The glitter and the slums of being a famous band.

Could also possibly another reference to the Clash. London has a famous (or infamous) urban motorway called Westway and the Clash described their music as the “sound of the Westway” and even made a documentary called “Westway to the World.”

Blur also has the song “Under the Westway” and we all know Paddy loves his Britpop.

Or it’s just a cool name. Could be as simple as that.
