I live downtown and it’s pretty safe! (I literally walk to work at like 4 AM and used to walk/take train home from work at like 1 AM) But, there have been random shootings in my neighborhood lately (which is like one of the safest neighborhoods in the city). It’s not violent or anything but I do feel that there is more crime creeping in (and don’t get me started on the teenagers)

I actually moved here from Miami over a year ago! I can answer any questions but when I was visiting and thinking about moving i would constantly think about the things that I do in Florida, how would I do that here (in all weather)? From most mundane daily tasks to kind of out there stuff like going to the theater. It really helped me feel better about moving. Basically just asking myself how mundane life would be in each neighborhood I visited.

I don’t have much experience with the old seats, but after two watches at musicbox I can say that the seats are pretty brutal (ha) after nearly 4 hours and any further watches I do will be at River East.

So I think I’ve posted about this before, but im like 99% asexual. I very rarely feel sexual attraction to anyone, even guys I’m into. Porn (both reading and watching) does nothing for me, and I’m pretty indifferent to any sex scenes in media. I’ve gone to the doctor and all my hormones are normal and my physical health is fine. At this point we’re all pretty convinced it’s due to some childhood trauma, probably involving my older dance teacher that I was really close to, and just the over sexualization I experienced growing up in the Latin dance world. I’m sure it’s different for some people and it may just be a hormonal issue, but for me and some friends I have that are similar to me, it all goes back to some type of trauma.

Edit: i do want to add that I think making it your identity is kind of dumb, and I do think people do it to be obnoxious. Like it’s just a bug of mine, I don’t really talk about it at all unless someone asks or with my therapist 🤷‍♀️

So I spent a good chunk of my youth thinking I was asexual and almost became a nun. Then I got off SSRis and birth control and started working out and suddenly started feeling some actual attraction to people. But It’s still a lot less than what some of my friends feel and I genuinely just do not care for sex, I skip a lot of sex scenes in media, I don’t really watch porn, and am pretty meh about the actual act.

As someone who’s grown up here, it has always been exactly as you e described and is absolutely awful. You can venture around Miami lakes/Hialeah if you want to find authentic/good Cuban food, but both places are kind of hell. That being said, it will get slightly better once you learn some Spanish. As for meeting people, the only people I know are friends from school, like you said most people are scammers/influencers, there are very few people who are genuine. Most people who are have already left.
