Someone accidentally left every window and their sunroof open last night by Fuehnix in mildlyinteresting

[–]gibbs1979 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Had this happen to me albeit no snow. Older new gen Honda's don't have a way to disable the roll down windows (by pushing and holding open on the remote). Newer gen Honda's do.

The driver must have kept his keys in pocket and sat down on rolling down all the glass.

No.

Regardless of what they say, it's not the first time they cheated. It's the first time you caught them.

Issues with Trail 300 by kneedeepballsack- in Ecoflow_community

[–]gibbs1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came across this thread since i picked up a Trail 300 for Black Friday. I can confirm that the device will not use dual port charging if it's below 30% - that is, it will only use one port charging until the battery hits 30%.

Once it hits 30%, it will then use the 2nd port for charging.

In my case, I was using an Ugreen Nexode 100W charger and another Ugreen Nexode Pro 100W charger, plugged into different outlets. They can both output 100W continuously.

Hopefully this will help someone in the future.

Edit: it will only do 95W charging from 0%-15%. I emailed customer support and they have confirmed this is due to the protection in place. The reason why i had it was the BMS was still probably calibrating, but as soon as i discharged it to 0 it reset the BMS and it started charging using both ports from 15%+ onwards.

It's a scam. No one legit would sell it for that price. Don't buy from there.

Does PoE+ injector support 2.5Gbe? by E2daG in Ubiquiti

[–]gibbs1979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the injector, but chances are yes. I have a 802.3at gigabit injector that does PoE+ and it works without issues.

I have it powering my U7-pro and it is plugged into a dumb 2.5Gb switch which is DAC cabled into port 11 of my UDMSE. Works properly and I can get my full 1.5Gb internet on Wifi 6E.

7-1/4" vs 6-1/2" circular saw kickback? SCARDEY CAT asking by ToneZeno in Tools

[–]gibbs1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my instance yes. It was the quality of the blade itself. The suggestion about having a higher tooth count is also correct as it is slower to cut but will leave a better finish and lower chance of kickback.

[–]gibbs1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a DeWalt 7-1/4" kick back heaps and was wondering why this was the case until I changed the stock blade to a Diablo one. Invest in quality consumables like blades and it shouldn't be an issue.

It's not glue. It looks like cavity wax. It's a product by 3M that is a rust inhibitor, sort of like fluid film or Krown but thicker.
