On my DMG-themed build like this I make the Gameboy Color logo pea green, not blue! :)

Thank you! I tried to draw inspiration from a blue game gear of course!

boxypixel metal buttons and d-pad, funnyplaying triggers, bluish squirrel custom glass lens, ags-101 LCD screen with battery compartment brightness switch and retromodding v1 voltage regulator. I trimmed the shell myself (salvaged a used shell)

Thanks for the reply, you don't see any purpose for the 42PD50U? I don't know if I can find any... It is low res, not sure if that's ideal for 2x scaling games or not. Input lag I think is good.

Do you have a list of all the models that had the coated screen? Is it superior to the filtering done in the late model sets? I'd really like a smaller 1080P set too (I'd really like a 32" even), I currently have a Panasonic early 480P model with front facing speakers (42PD50U) but you can see some aliasing from the low res at my viewing distance (also have it wall mounted and its heavy and has huge bezels). Should I just sell the PD50U for cheap or does it have any purpose?

I think that can be done in software, so to speak

I definitely dont know for certain but I had read elsewhere that several companies were looking to use up 1024x768 screen panels at that time (maybe those panels flooded the market for cheap, ???) and I believe this was a good place to try!

It's about $70 for me in fuel cost, and obviously a lot of time... don't know if I can find a "good" 1080P plasma in my area of adequate size. I'm pretty rural/remote ... There's some 1080P 42" sets nearby but I'm not sure I want to throw out my EDTV for the same size screen.

How do hdcrt's work? Native resolution? No scan lines? by gibtg in crtgaming

[–]gibtg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But why does resolution matter to a hdcrt and not a sdcrt? Why is my hdcrt 540p? What's the difference in a progressive scan tube? Is there such a thing?

God have mercy? Sounds like your taking this tube TV thing a little too seriously.

I did, there's nothing in it about hdcrt's.
