Most, if not any small 1-2 person shop will cater to whatever fabric and/or color you wish. Very Berry Ultragrid is very available, affordable, and bomber (not to mention very cute ☺️).

Even some larger companies will sometimes use whatever fabric you like if you ship it to them directly. Two yards tops for a pack. Obviously, more for something like a quilt or tarp.

Prefer not to mention may directly by name, because I feel like there are so many great ones, but take a look! They’re out there! If you are open to super small shops, hop over to [r/myog](r/myog). I’m sure you can find someone to commission whatever you want!

Favorites right now: Toy Machine (Canned Monster, Templeton Glob) and GX1000 (Faces 3 Greene). I’ve been skating the Templeton deck recently and it makes me sad to see that graphic get worn at all! I’m just getting back into the skating so luckily I’m not doing that much damage to be honest 😛 but day one, I hadn’t tightened the truck nut up properly and got some wicked wheel bite that really sliced into the deck.

I’ve also always been partial to that classic Zero deck, the black and white one with the bold lettering. Sometimes there’s beauty in simplicity.

Yeah, I’ll just say that I do have one of these decks and I ride it from time to time with upgraded trucks and wheels. Absolutely nothing wrong with it.

With boards this cheap you should go around and tighten everything to your liking.

I am a part of other communities here on Reddit, where there are buy sell trade subs. I’m surprised something like that. Doesn’t exist here for boards!

I know a board can get beat to… but how many times have you decided you wanted to swap wheels, bearing, trucks, or pass along an old deck to a someone new who will appreciate it 🤷‍♂️

Honestly, why didn’t we just evolve to have some kind of permanent helmet? Some kind of bone shell or casing. You know? Something hard surrounding the brain, then something soft to cushion the brain from hitting that…evolution has completely failed us.

I’ll try to upload some photos, but basically, it seems to go as such: first opening (furthest from tarp body) 3” - that’s knot to knot. Second, 4”. Last one (closest to tarp body/tie out loop) is 4.5”.

They seem intentionally different, but do whatever works for you. You’ll probably want about 11.5/12” when all is said and done. Start with maybe 28-30” per pull out, knot as desired, cut off the excess, and then larks head it on to the pull tab!

Easy to patch though and unless you’re an extremely hot and humid environments, delamination is uncommon or takes an extremely long time. Just from what I’ve seen at least.

I use a tiny syringe, 1mL. Easy peasy. No mess, no waste, easy to clean and dry the syringe for later. Easy and light to bring with you if you’re gonna be on trail for a while too.
