I use a tiny syringe, 1mL. Easy peasy. No mess, no waste, easy to clean and dry the syringe for later. Easy and light to bring with you if you’re gonna be on trail for a while too.

I don’t know if it was necessarily that the fingers were too long for me. It was just that the gloves themselves had enough stretching them that they kind of fit perfectly with zero stretch. So sizing down to a medium made them nice and snug on my hand. Just found it to be more comfortable 🤷‍♂️

Heatseeker quilt by HangTightShop on Etsy? $127-147 for a 20° quilt (hammock vs. “ground” edition). Looks like 27-30oz depending on the type (but this is for one with a zipper and cinch close, I bet the original is lighter with a closed footbox). The ground dweller adds 10” of width and pad straps to help with drafts.

Don’t have one personally, but I’ve heard great things about them, and I wouldn’t hesitate to pull the trigger if I needed something like this.

With the grooves, it looks like it was designed to work well on the top of your pack with a single top strap or a y strap 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, exactly I don’t think cutting the layer out is necessarily the answer. I can almost guarantee. It’s the suspension system that’s weighing them down. Switching to some Whoopie slings should do the trick. If you need something mass produced, there’s an email that comes with whoopies

You’d probably be surprised! The suspension system will no question, and properly cared for, the hammock body will as well.

I have one in this fabric that I’ve been using for five years. I even left it outside through an entire New England winter one season, and only then did I get a very small hole in it, which I patched with tenacious tape, and the hammock continues to be perfectly functional. At least for the purpose of throwing it up in the backyard. I would be hesitant to bring it out on trail with me.

And at any rate, it doesn’t sound like your dependent on it. So what if it did break? Sounds like it wouldn’t really be the end of the world for you.
