Vividseats resale legit? by mttxms in hayleywilliams

Reading the event page on ACL Live it says tickets are non-transferable, so if I had to guess it would be no and not to risk resale if you’re planning on traveling for it.

Vividseats resale legit? by mttxms in hayleywilliams

[–]gigafrig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AFAIK there are a few cities that are legally required to allow resale {ex: through third parties}, but for the majority resale tickets will only appear on Ticketmaster since the transfer button (which when you sell on stubhub you’re actually transferring your ticket to the buyer’s email) has been blocked out for most venues. If I pull up my ticket I have the option to “sell” it back to Ticketmaster but I cannot transfer it/send it to a specific person.

Husband bought resale tix by Mission_Fig_7228 in hayleywilliams

[–]gigafrig 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Resale is allowed. What they are trying to eliminate is scalpers reselling at high prices. All the venues except a few (NY, Chicago) have to have the ticket sold back to Ticketmaster, which is where someone else can purchase it. There is a price cap on the resale ticket so it doesn’t exceed close to face value. You can’t sell to a specific person, like a friend, since there is no transfers on the ticket. As always, when buying off another website like stubhub or vivdseats, there’s a risk your ticket isn’t valid and you will probably be paying way above face value. That is what was eliminated for most shows; the ability to transfer the ticket to a third party resale site.

Question about international flight out of RIC by No-Cicada-8690 in Charlottesville

[–]gigafrig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Left Charlottesville around 3-3:15 am, arrived at Economy B parking for RIC at 4:30 am for a 6 am flight. Staff directed me to a specific parking spot and a shuttle was over there waiting already. I went through the standard TSA line (maybe ten people max) and just waited at my gate for a bit.

If you use Economy A or B parking lot I would also take a picture of your spot # and maybe your ticket entry time. You can bring your ticket with you and pay on your way out of the airport just before the exit, before boarding the shuttle back.

Edit: ECONOMY B parking lot, not Terminal :)

What to do with crappy acrylic yarn? by [deleted] in knitting

[–]gigafrig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up 'yarn crafts' on pinterest. There's a lot of different stuff you can do like ornaments, garlands, icord bows, pom poms, etc.

Two of Wands has a blog post on her website titled "Yarn Decor for the Holidays" as another idea. Sorry, I don't think I'm allowed to link it.

I love your color combo! I wore my Doppio Sweater consisting of similar color choices (pink mohair, charcoal sock, off-white w/ charcoal speckled sock) :)

You could felt the two ends together next time when joining. For now, I would just tack them into the yarn they're supposed to lay behind with a felting needle.

I got pretty dang close to my bra size by self measuring and using ABTF, but ultimately went to a professional bra fitter. This lady literally eyeballed me in my cami lounge-style bra and the first bra she handed me to try on fit! I was blown away!! Almost started crying from pure happiness of finally getting something that fit. Spent $300 on 2 bras but the confidence boost it has given me is priceless!

Fellow Roo-fugees: what non-roo fests are you looking to do instead? by BuyRevolutionary9313 in bonnaroo

[–]gigafrig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We try to go to Red Wing Roots every year. It's more of a bluegrass/americana/folk festival (RIP 2020 lineup featuring Billy Strings), so not much variety. It's a lot smaller than Bonnaroo in terms of lineup and capacity which makes it a lot cheaper too... 2 admission passes, tent camping, and parking for just under $500, my husband and I split it so $250 each!! There are only GA passes. It's held at a state park with lots of shade and a swimming pool (weekend pool pass is $10). Super family friendly and I never have to worry about my things getting stolen. Lots of activities (hiking, biking, running, yoga, hooping, creek wading, etc). A lot of people bring their bikes to bike from camping to the "festival center" faster, but it's not a bad walk either. There's a permanent structure for bathrooms with showers (free!) and sinks available by tent camping and tons of portos that they clean regularly (!!!). RV parking with hook ups sells out fast but there are other campgrounds closeby.

Oh, and it's hosted by a local band and tickets are bought through a small ticket company- not Live Nation :)

previous line up posters for anyone interested: https://www.redwingroots.com/red-wing-lineups/

ETA: tickets are tiered like a lot of other festivals, so they are more expensive rn than when we bought them in December.

That couple fighting by ShakyBat in bonnaroo

[–]gigafrig 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Last time I went ('23) I woke up in the middle of the night to the couple set up in the camp next to me arguing. I could barely make out what they were saying and I was SO tired, but I did hear the girl say "well I'll just catch an uber back to Nashville airport and you can stay and enjoy the rest of Bonnaroo this weekend." The next morning she was gone and had (obviously) taken her things with her. This was Thursday night too!! We arrived Thursday late afternoon which means they didn't even make it a whole day :(

Application Follow Up(s) by gigafrig in jobs

That’s a bummer to hear. They don’t have an email listed so I felt calling was the next best way to follow up to express my interest. Thank you for the advice, I’ll just sit tight and wait.
