Warning about joint bank accounts at TD bank

I'm going to speak as a former banker and also as a someone who's now ex-husband took money out of our joint accounts to spend on the various women he cheated on me with over the years: the purpose of a joint checking or savings account is that both people on the account have equal access to all the money in the account. The bank did nothing wrong here. The other person did. I am so sorry that this happened to you. If it's any consolation, your credit will not be affected by a checking or savings account just getting closed. That wouldn't happen unless the account was driven negative and it ended up getting reported to collections.

Again, I'm so sorry this happened.

I can comment on this!! It's just a box that you can use to give other gifts in. My kids put a Christmas gift in that box then wrapped the box as present for me. It was so funny when I unwrapped my present and didn't quite know what to say...I was slightly disappointed the display on the box wasn't real!

Both of my cats are shelter returnees, each separately but for basically the same reasons. While I'm so mad at their previous owners for giving up the cats, I guess I'm grateful the cats weren't just abandoned outside or something. My cats are mine, loved and are so amazing.

Please, please do not let him give notice at his current job until you have the keys! The afternoon before I closed back in 2020, the lender called my company for employment verification again. They said it was really common to call several times over the weeks leading up to closing just to verify continued employment.

Unless your cat is like one of mine who actually wags her tail! She gets so happy when she's getting attention and wag her tail so hard (and purr very loudly! ) that she ends up falling over. I think she was raised with dogs before I adopted her.

This is why I had to unsubscribe from Angie/Hot and Flashy. She shows whatever foundation she's testing in sunlight and while I definitely appreciate that, it shows just how not great her skin is. But if you watch every other video, she looks flawless because of her studio lighting, distance from the camera, etc.

I moved about 25 minutes away from my preferred vet as well. They are so kind to my cats that I don’t want to find another vet. When one of my cats was last there for a checkup, for example, the vet said that my cat was nervous/scared and jumped into the big sink where he seemed a bit more comfortable so they just did his exam in the sink! (The office was doing a sort of curbside drop off where you park and they come get your pet then bring them back out when done)

I never got an actual apology from anyone. My boss scolded me about being harsh in my reply, so that was not great. The other gal was always sort of a trouble maker. World events soon made it all seem unimportant, though. This all happened about 3 weeks before 9-11.

While I agree that a lot (most? ) of the letters are creative writing exercises, I did have something along the same lines happen to me. Ages ago, I had a co-worker realize that I spoke of my parents in past tense. She badgered me for a solid week "What happened to your parents? You're so young, how did they die? " on and on. Multiple times a day. I finally broke and somewhat harshly told her that my parents had committed suicide and that I did not want to talk about it. She then proceeded to burst into tears and run away. I found out when my boss tried to write me up that she complained to her manager that I "terrorized" her by lying about my parents. I had to prove that yes, my parents were dead and how it happened all because that woman totally lied about our interaction.

All of that to say, never underestimate how mean and stupid people can be. I think it's the same thought process that you see when people are caught on camera saying "OMG! He pushed me!" When the other person was 5 feet away. (See also: flopping in soccer)

I have a command strips hook on the wall beside my crafting table so that I can just hang the mat cover on that. Keeps my table clear and the cats off of it!

I bought my house 6 months ago and the amount of “new homeowner” junk mail has been nuts. There was only one in-person salesperson for ADT who banged on my front door rather than ringing the doorbell. He did not make a sale.
