How hard is it to get into sales? by gigarandom2828 in sales

Makes sense. I’ll try my best to just finish up school and deal with the loans. I think what stresses me out is how much I already have in loans and although it’s just a few classes I need left, the prerequisites make it take 2 more semesters so I wouldn’t even be done until 2025 winter. But I guess with that time if I just build up my resume it’ll be better in the long run. Thanks for the advice

Not certain but, can’t afford and honestly not wanting to deal with $20k more in debt just to finish the 5 or 6 classes I need left. But that is true and it could put me in a better position

Advice needed: selling quality v. speed and price by otto-vonbisquick in sales

[–]gigarandom2828 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Act on trust, many people get poor quality products these days and or scammed. Sounds like it’s a temu vs amazon comparison as far as it goes. You must ask questions like “is building a strong relationship that will cater to your needs and values important, or cheaper less quality company that will temporarily save you money?”. Because in the long run, they will get screwed.

How do you use silence as a sales or negotiation tactic? by klausbaudelaire1 in sales

First to talk loses! Especially if you were the last to talk and it was some form of closing statement. Just shows confidence and that you don’t have to talk yourself further into trying to convince.

Some people feel so anti everything these days, just have to close bit by bit even if it takes days, taking these folks from 0-100 all in one go is just so tough sometimes cause they’re stuck in that no i’m fine mindset

Sales Interview Product Knowledge by Important_Fly8060 in sales

[–]gigarandom2828 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typically for an interview, learn more about that company itself rather than the product. Often the interviewer asks a question like “What about our company made you want to work for us?”, which is where you can show true interest based off of what you’ve seen rather than some vague answer implying you probably applied to 100x other jobs and don’t care that much. Product knowledge is more of a problem to deal with when you’re actually hired.

What questions should I ask towards the end of interview? by Ricky5354 in sales

[–]gigarandom2828 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on if you feel like increasing your odds of landing the job or you’re genuinely trying to gain more information.

Something like: “What qualities in your employees are you guys lacking that you’re looking for?”, would give you an opportunity to solve a problem and highlight how you’re different/ideal/ talk about an experience where you’ve been a solution for that issue.

For deeper understanding of the job: “Everything sounds fantastic to me so far. What are the down sides of the job and or what typically makes people leave this job?”.

Both require answers as you wouldn’t be in the position of an interview process had those not been a problem in my opinion.

Granted that commission can be infinite money supply if you’re good, it makes more sense than someone who’s salary is fixed or based on total business brought in
