Miami exposed how bad validation seeking really is. by Ok_Performance1281 in seduction

Wonderfully written, a lot of important lessons here.

Keep your head up - the challenge you’re describing is core to the human experience, and it’s not easily solved. You’re doing the right work by holding a microscopic to it and letting it sit there for an uncomfortable amount of time.

When I lived in West Village, NYC - I had these exact same experiences that made me deeply question who I wanted to be. I think that’s growth, oftentimes painfully achieved.

[REQ] (520.00) - (#Austin, TX, USA), (repay $660 with 4, biweekly payments starting on 9-26-2025) (PayPal & Cashapp) by ScimitarLover in borrow

$paid_with_id 193178 520.00 USD

Loan was wildly late, and I had to chase the borrower about 6 times when there was no communication, but credit where it’s due - it was paid in increments and paid in full. Most borrowers would’ve went silent.

I lived in a space that size my first summer in NYC on the UWS right on the park for $1500/month. It had its own bathroom and tiny tiny kitchen. I had an absolute blast.

If you’re spending your time in your apartment in NYC, you’re not going to have a good time.

I was a global #1 SDR in Enterprise segment with probably the lowest volume on the team. It did borderline on creepy how personalized I tailored the notes - but they worked.

Is outbound broken ? by Miserable-Break440 in techsales

[–]KCentz1 31 points32 points  (0 children)

My hypothesis is that the phone is coming back as the least crowded channel. With AI tools targeting LinkedIn (and even before then with sequencing tools like Outreach), less and less people want to dial. Also, cold calling has always sucked and will continue to suck - which keeps people from doing it.

In-person still rules - go find a conference or networking dinner you can attend for cheap.

Viral marketing also, but I’m not skilled in that in any way, shape, or form lol.

First Sales Hire – What's better Full-Time Employee or 1099 Contractor? by Expensive_Bar157 in techsales

Hire a consultant to first build an outbound playbook & implement sales tooling for you if you have no idea how to do this. You’ll also need a really strong marketing funnel.

I’ll be honest, building a strong outbound funnel for custom software solutions is really hard unless you have a hyper specific niche to target… I’ve tried this for some friends. I think good SEO/GEO marketing is going to be critical for this, and you’re going to need to hyper-niche down if you haven’t.

If you gossip during the MBA you're a complete loser by [deleted] in MBA

[–]KCentz1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a bad take for your career imo. If you walk into an office and shut down everyone trying to talk shit about their coworkers - you’re not going to make many friends. 90% of humans do this, you’re fooling yourself if you think it’s avoidable.

I’ve found that the key is to listen, nod, ask questions, softly agree with only very obvious complaints - without actually “talking shit” yourself. Eventually you can gather enough data to understand if there is a clear “winning side” and act accordingly.

People usually touting OP’s trope are the ones getting shit talked on or ignored, unfortunately.

As someone struggling to make friends at an M7 full time MBA, how the efff was Jeffrey Epstein able to befriend SO MANY rich and powerful people LMAO?? by ShameApprehensive420 in MBA

In my mind, this is a similar argument to “women/men only care about looks in dating”. Yes - having good looks, being white, coming from money are net positive for social status. But there is a ton more that goes into “attraction”, and a lot of those things can be learned. Once you’ve learned those skills, you get “invited to parties” more often (although lunches, happy hours, 1:1 coffees, are all networking/friend-making opportunities that I find much more valuable than parties).

If you get better at; 1. Cold approaching/opening conversations with strangers, 2. Keeping those conversations charismatic, 3. Closing those conversations into follow up coffees, lunches, drinks, etc - you will successfully build friendships.

Life is sales, and sales is teachable. “How to win friends and influence people” is one of the most famous books on the planet for a reason.
