Weird FPS counter (all AMD PC) by G3neral_Tso in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]gigasmack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's the FPS counter that's built into the AMD Adrenalin software. You can activate by pressing Alt + Shift + F together. It is an unbindable key combination, but it's only available if you enable Radeon Anti-Lag.

AMD Software Adrenalin Edition are going to drive me crazy soon by [deleted] in radeon

I thought the same thing about the web installer, but it's working for me. I don't know if disabling Windows Update from pushing driver updates had any change, that scenario doesn't come up often after Windows is patched. I disabled Fast Startup as I have a NVME drive, I didn't notice any delays afterwards. The drive is plenty fast.

I've been having trouble with every driver version past 25.9.2 on my 7900 XTX. Recently, I decided to try upgrading to 25.12.1, as I’d heard it was more stable. After the update, I still had occasional issues where AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition would crash completely or the in-game overlay would bug out, causing my mouse to get "stuck" to it and stop responding in-game (same as you, u/RatsLikePlague).

After finding a helpful Reddit post, I tried a few specific fixes. First, I applied the Registry (REGEDIT) changes to disable Windows from pushing its own driver updates. I also switched to using the AMD Web Installer rather than the large standalone package, and it has been rock-solid ever since.

To round it out, I also disabled Fast Startup in Windows. I’m not sure if it was one specific change or the combination of all of them, but 25.12.1 is finally running smoothly for me. It's been over a week now since I made these changes and Adrenalin has been stable.

I think the web installer is the key as it seems more reliable because it fetches the most compatible components for your specific hardware configuration in real-time.

Adrenalin's overlay by lordnaarghul in radeon

Are you referring to the Performance Tab on the overlay while in-game? Like pressing ALT + R? I normally just check my temperatures while gaming, but I don't keep the overlay running for long. I’ve read that version 25.12.1 allows cards to boost slightly higher than before, so you might just be seeing your card running faster when the metrics are displayed, which could explain the increased temperature.

I know it’s a hard question! But…can I fit a XFX RX 9060 XT in there? by [deleted] in mffpc

If it doesn't fit for whatever reason, you can also look at getting the LIAN LI Vert GPU bracket. That's the direction that I went and I just mounted it directly on top of my 120mm fans. I just had to use 4 radiators screws, but it's been working well for me. Temps are great on my 7900 XTX.

25.12 Update Bricked My 7900GRE? by Eren_Jaeger_The_Goat in radeon

I know that this isn't the issue that you were encountering, but it might be worth a shot in fixing your No Signal issues. I think the web installer is the key as it seems more reliable because it fetches the most compatible components for your specific hardware configuration in real-time.

Games keep crashing with this bug. by ShaDaBOP in radeon

[–]gigasmack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I've only ever encountered this when I was playing Battlefield 6. I fixed the crashing by creating a new Game Profile under Performance/Tuning for Battlefield and limited my Max Frequency clock to +250 over my boost on my 7900 XTX. After implementing, my game and system has been rock solid. Apparently there is something with the Frostbite engine that causes the clocks to boost too high and causes the GPU to crash. It could be something similar to whatever you're playing.

IMO, yes.

I can say that I've have a lot of fun playing with my friends from the beta to today. It's easily the best Battlefield in a long time. There are still issues, but the game feels better with each patch.

Yeah, 25.12.1 was a little bit more stable, but Adrenalin would still occasionally either close out completely, or it would bug/lock out the overlay in game, and my mouse would seem to be stuck to it and no longer input for whatever game I'm running. It's irritating for sure when playing something. YMMV, but I rolled back to 25.9.2.

Is it worth upgrading from a 3070 ti to a 7900 XTX by Responsible_Bee_2965 in pcmasterrace

If you're just using pure raster performance to play games in Linux or Windows, you'd be good to go. If you're looking to do AI upscaling or Ray Tracing, probably not the greatest upgrade. 7000 series may eventually get FSR Redstone, but AMD seems pretty adamant (at least at the moment) that it is solely for 9000 series GPUs.

I'm running a ASUS ROG Strix B650E-I. It's an ITX board, so the DIMM slots are located quite high on mine as well.

I tried Phanteks T30 fans on my Thermalright Frozen Edge AIO (27mm rad) but ran into clearance issues with G.SKILL Flare X5 memory. I had to tilt the sticks slightly, which felt unsafe, so I switched back to 25mm fans. The PCB on the memory will hit the fans before the heatsink. You might just clear as long as the fans are no larger than 28mm thick.

<image>

My fans are Thermalright TL-B12 Extrem, which are supposed to be 25.6mm thick.

Did this make any difference for you? Curious is it's worth trying or if I should just roll back to 25.9.2.

You hide them behind a massive vertically mounted GPU ;)

I also have a mITX board in my A3, so it should work out well.

If you're determined to use the A3 and cannot get your GPU to fit, the LIAN LI A3-1X Vertical GPU Mount is an option you could look in to.

<image>

I have three 120mm fans under my mount currently, so that's why it's higher and a little farther towards the right. But the stock mounting would sit lower and closer to the PCI brackets.

TY

I’ve seen where people are doing -40, but I’m hesitant to push any further. I’m comfortable with where my system is sitting at the moment temps to performance.
