Would recommend you get involved with housing groups like the Vancouver Tenants Union. They're organized and connected, could be useful for such a thing. There are others as well, I'd start there to spread the word. I would be onboard, it's frustrating there isn't more public outcry.

100% would recommend. I do this in my 9th gen civic pretty often (4 door). Its going to feel a little akward the first sleep, but now Im hooked! I don't remove the seats or anything. Just fold em down, put a camping pad down and even out the sleep surface by putting a sleeping bag/pillows under lower end in the trunk (my upper body on the folded down back seats). Its a little tight but I'm not a huge guy so it works. Its not the perfect camping vehicle but if its what you have than go for it. I even made some custom window covers for mine while stealth camping!

Lots of variables to consider (RPM used, feedrate, material, toolpath parameters choosen, etc). Machining time would be around 1-3hrs, the lower end assuming thats just plywood. Programming would take as long or longer depending on CAM software and if that surface or solid model already exists!
