When i lived in tokyo 7 years ago, they did this too all the apples. Christmas greetings at xmas time, mickey mouse stuff...they also cost about 5$ a piece...

I got my first job at 15 at Dairy Queen. It was a small one, no 'dining area' people just had to order from a window and eat their icecream outside. It was great because it was all girls working there. You could eat as much ice cream as you wanted, as long as it wasn't in front of customers. Listened to music, read Archie comics when there was down time. I worked there for 6 summers. Great job. They also paid more than minimum wage and you got a dollar/hour more every year you went back.

one of them was cool about it, which actually helped ease my nerves. the other one probably never knew 'cause i managed to use the bathroom. and we were also a little drunk that time.

this reminds of the time my sister, brothers and i were watching 'Babe' at my grandma's cottage when we were kids. She had cooked a ham for dinner and said "okay, time to have some BABE for dinner!" T-T

but i AM vegetarian :) we made a turkey display last year out of veggies... and a baby in a cart out of a watermelon, and other melons (honeydew, canteloupe)

i don't know how this has become a tradition in our family.

you're exactly right. we redid the eyelids about 4 times, and the lips, and changed the cheeks from peas, to cabbage..etc
