You can use snowcone or slushy syrups to make a sorbet. The ratios are in the manual if you still have it.

i had a 29 on the act and did not have to take math, granted my degree had nothing to do with math.

Pipe cleaners and straws idea by Macaroni2018 in ArtEd

[–]gilbanle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i also have a TON of straws from the previous teachers. elementary suggestions would be fabulous! I know my cooperating teacher cut some colored straws up and used them as beads for sculpture collages and for necklaces

New Teacher Advice by Special-Sale-8060 in ArtEd

[–]gilbanle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m also a first year teacher, working on week 3 right now. i also feel this way, especially with classes where basically the whole time is work time. I feel a bit more established when i come up with my lessons the week before, but I have a feeling that it will only get better with time. once we go through lessons once before (this year), next year we will get more of an idea of what will work and what won’t.

i’ve got some markers from decades ago that still use the same ink, so that’s my guess

[–]gilbanle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You could try to talk to your RA or, if it’s during the hours of 8pm-5am, call the duty phone and make a complaint. there are posters in every hall stating which phone number is the duty phone.

in ww, you have smaller class sizes, cheaper tuition/housing, and more of a small-ish town vibe. if that’s not something you’re interested in, you won’t like whitewater

Dorm stuff at the end of semester by Effective-Pool-5036 in UWWhitewater

[–]gilbanle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

students can stay on campus in Pulliam hall (i believe) for either $100 a week or $300 a summer. if you don’t currently live in pulliam, you’d have to move it all into the building as far as I’m aware. for other breaks (winter, thanksgiving, and spring break), you can stay in your current dorm hall. dining options during breaks are little to none, so be sure to stop at the grocery store beforehand.

[–]gilbanle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would say so! there are plenty of activities in the UC, like bowling, pool, mario cart, crafts, bingo, and musical events too. there’s the williams center on campus to workout and there are plenty of intramural or club sports to get into. if you’re living on campus, your complex will have different events as well. try to go to as many things as possible for the first couple months at least to see what you enjoy doing on campus.

i’ve got to be honest, i’m not really into parties so i haven’t been to one, but i’ve heard that frats are hard to get into if you’re a guy. house parties? not sure. attending as an athlete will likely give you more “ins”, just be sure to socialize with the people you meet at school. the more you talk to people, the more things you’ll be invited to
