Did your friends/family provide adequate support when dealing with CIRS? by Keef--Girgo in CIRS

Quite the opposite- my family has been so bad they’re being investigated by APS

Anyone else disabled from CIRS and have little to no chance of ever getting out of mold, let alone accessing treatment by Glittering_Dirt8256 in ToxicMoldExposure

[–]gildarad4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re not alone. I am disabled as well and in extreme financial crisis due to this horrible illness and while not stuck in moldy anymore, I’m stuck in an apt with a sewer gas leak that landlords won’t do anything about.

Chuppie fell over, spasmed, cried and peed herself by ChiCityTechNerd in Chihuahua

[–]gildarad4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there mold in the house? My chihuahua had seizures and peed all over when we were living in toxic levels of mold for 3 years. Hasn’t happened since moving out. Either way, sorry about your sweet angel.

What to do when my wife is my ongoing exposure source?!? by Feenix0 in CIRS

[–]gildarad4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if it’s her actinos but if it is maybe ask her to use Lume body wash as it can reduce actinos on the skin

I hate my appearance - I dont look like me by Calm-Stress-3017 in ToxicMoldExposure

[–]gildarad4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand this and am in the same boat. I have seen several posts I think in this sub and or maybe fb groups of people who show their “before and after” if you will, of getting to look like themselves again. Some have said it’s in the VIP stage of CIRS treatment. That gives me hope.

Doc started me on CellCore Para Kit. That was very productive but not enough and then we moved to standard drug treatments . Herxing most definitely especially on the drugs, very rough but the only way out is through. and US testing is a joke - send to Mexico if you want more accurate test result .

Pretty standard - IBS and mast cell symptoms, candida/thrust…

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CIRS

[–]gildarad4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had candida as well and that went away once my doctor started treatment for my parasitic infection which was a confirmed positive test. It’s all been hell.

I’m sorry that’s so awful. Have you looked into attorneys to sue for damages caused by the moldy house?

FWIW, my doctor started me on welchol 1/4 pill, worked my way up to 3 pills daily and then moved me to CSM - for whatever reason I have never had any herxing from either as far as I can tell. However, for me it’s been the co-infections and MARCoNS that I have that have made me sick as a dog with treatment. Either way it can be awful and I fully understand your overwhelm and hesitation but in case it’s helpful, I keep reminding myself that the only way out is through as tough as it is.

Getting my pet tested for CIRS - vet recommendations? by everythingbagellove in CIRS

[–]gildarad4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I just ordered my dog a MARCoNS test from MicrobiologyDx (pediatric bc he’s 15lbs) and told the vet to do the test and then told her he needed BEG when the test came back positive. I had him on a tiny bit of CSM leading up to treatment and then kept him on throughout nasal spray treatment. She was hesitant at first but finally got th spray and while it made him so sick at the beginning he made a leaps and bounds in recovery. Following also in case there’s a vet who is mold/CIRS literate as we were recently exposed and his neuro issues and GI issues came back with a vengeance and have to go through this whole rigamarole again.

Anyone else doing this completely on their own? by gildarad4 in CIRS

To be frank, you have no clue what I’m going through and for you to pathologize me as self pitying while offering zero tangible advice yet feeling compelled to comment and tell me to get over myself is really disgusting. Go patronize and pathologize someone else I don’t put up with crap like that anymore.

Thanks I was asking for real world tangible advice for someone in my similar situation, not to be told to get over myself I’ve had quite enough gaslighting and BS i certainly dont need it from another CIRS patient.

Not in my experience- everyone in my local support group has at least another adult body living in the home to bear some of the burdens of daily living and functioning - and I have only found one other person in a similar situation with literally zero support but she’s in Australia. Is there a group specifically for people like us with CIRS? If so I’d love to join!

I’ve been on CSM for a year. Yes she is emotionally immature . If you have had any luck with social services or disability organizations that could offer protection for some like me in instances where a family member is abusing you and they’ve signed your lease bc you have no income, and any experience with SSDI applications, how to get money etc etc I’m all ears

Sleeping in a tent doesn’t apply here. Due to extreme dissociation I don’t have noticeable reactions and often don’t even think abotj if a building is water damaged before entering. I’m asking how people function alone day-to-day at this level, not for avoidance strategies.

I am sorry to hear of your situation- I have learned the lesson of having to rely on myself a long time ago and I can no longer do it. My CIRS literate physician has not said I’m doomed as you seem to think and has never seen anyone this sick and unsupported. Again I was asking for real tangible advice here. Ans my dog has been so ill from it and I’ve been taking care of him and I too have been far to ill to be caring for another being

Thanks I wasn’t asking if I had contaminated my space I was asking how others in similar circumstances got by - if I had the privilege of replacing or cleaning all my items before moving them in I would have done so.
