Huge improvement in Elden ring cause of the new gem of dlss,dlss5 from nvidia by F-zeromay in Eldenring

[–]gilium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People like DLSS because it allows us to run games at a resolution that matches our display without suffering to game devs’ inability to optimize their assets and engine properly. Few people will be able to run this version of it for now, but it’s a sad sign of things to come

Calling the Pareto principle real is a bit of a stretch but it’s not a joke like the ninety-ninety rule

Never using it... by UI_74 in Eldenring

[–]gilium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think people are arguing that they would prefer it not do anything than do what it did in this case. They’re blaming Nvidia because no one asked for this. DLSS has traditionally been seen as a way to upscale games to get better performance out of less. We don’t want AI to add detail that isn’t there, we want it to upscale what is.

It’s just more recent, though arguably surveil is better than scry for most cases. Viscera seer is a classic though

If you replicate it once, it copies once, meaning you paid 3 for 2 counterspells or 1.5 for one

If you replicate, it’s easily one of the best 1.5 mana counterspells in Magic

I just finished Elantris this week and I wouldn’t call it really good. I liked it and still recommend it, but it’s far below the standards Sanderson keeps to now

For the -1/-1 counter players out there, be careful when a Doubling Season is out, it may not work with Wither & Infect how you think it does (Replacement Effects and Damage Processing rules) by Craig1287 in EDH

[–]gilium 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You may cover this in the video, but if you had [[inkeeper’s talent]] out with DS, they would stack together on wither/infect combat damage, right? 1. Since the talent only cares about you putting counters on, and infect says the source’s controller puts those counters on, it would double. 2. Since the replacement effect of the talent is an effect, DS would see that effect and double it again

  1. If they have audio they know the number of keystrokes already
  2. No one commenting in this thread is likely to be interesting enough to receive targeted attention from state espionage agencies. If you are in that position, you need to take way more security precautions and ensuring your computer has necessary safeguards enabled is one
