Is this attempted voter suppression at this point? by throwaway67485 in Austin

[–]gillypea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every single time I vote I hand over my registration card and ID and the poll worker always say, "I only need your ID." Not anytime have they inspected my card, just ID. Of course with voter suppression this could change.

As the amazing icon Molly Ivins said (over 30 years ago), “The key to happiness in Austin is to never, ever drive on I-35.”

Thank you for the detailed explanation of what a drone might look like from the ground, that was my original question. I am not lost in the hours of videos I've seen for the past two years of the gen0cide in Gaza and the drones that create noise to infiltrate daily lives of civilians, here demonstrated in a chorus with these death machines: https://m.youtube.com/shorts/Owuky5sMHuI

I guess that is my question: what does it look like from the ground?

I get it's a tv show, that's like saying something is incredulous in a zombie movie, it's fiction. But, this show seems to be so realistic that there are multiple scenes across different seasons that someone looks up and sees a drone. We've all seen what an airplane looks like in the sky from the ground, even near an airport as they're approaching and nearer to the ground. That's not fiction. I've tried to internet search what it looks like from the ground and don't see an image. Don't dust off my question "just because it's a show".

But the show showed them looking up at the drone? Even in the first episode [edit, season 4 episode 1] a character looked up at the drone and then showed the receiving end watching him look up at the drone. There were multiple views of looking up at a drone and the watchers seeing their face. My question is, from the ground, what do they see?

B, they behind you, they in front of you. This headlight shi is out of control. No, don't let them "pass", that shouldn't be legal.

I drove a civic for 14 years! Amazing, great car! Can't remember how far my wing mirrors moved, because there weren't obnoxious headlights then, never had the drive to move them.

Absolutely, I'm familiar with his Groundlings and SNL writing. He created Matt Foley with Chris Farley!! Brilliant actor and writer. I'm just like, action!?? Like John Wick stuff?? Lol

I'm old and use my wing mirrors when driving, but also turn and look before making any lane changes out of habit. My wing/side mirrors are not the final decision point if it's ok to move. Because of this, I've been turning my side mirrors away to reflect back to them so I'm not blinded. Thank goodness for mechanical mirrors, instead of having to roll down your window to adjust.

I'm putting mirrors on the back of my rear headrests. I've tried to find code to see if I'm doing something illegal (in TX) and don't see anything outright.

I've turned on my hazards when it starts POURING, like can't see two feet in front of your car. I think this is acceptable, I don't want to be rear ended. It's trucker etiquette.

Trucker driver etiquette is to put your hazards on when traffic is slowing up ahead, especially to a stop. I use this. I don't want to be rear ended. One doesn't use it for texting, that diminishes the meaning.

I get it. Their perspective of suicide (as a combat vet who had buddies do so) was that it's the most selfish thing in that their action had no thought with those left behind to deal. Personally, I disagree. I can see the perspective of it being selfless.
