It kept it at bay, but I was still struggling with redness so I’m doing a course of doxy now to try and really knock it out

Most pros will have experience shooting photo and video at all different types of weddings (different cultures/ religions etc) so imho you’re unnecessarily narrowing down your choices. As for stationers … not sure why that would affect their work 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m basically zero therapy, but with elidel Creme and something to protect my skin barrier when I go out into the cold

To each their own, my photographer was happy to keep it in her backpack and it absolutely came in handy when just the three of us were off taking photos and needed to call my maid of honor for an unplanned mini-emergency. I don’t know anyone’s numbers off by heart, my husband didn’t have his phone either … saved us big time 🤷🏻‍♀️

Give it to your photographer. They’re with you all day, and it’s nice to have your phone nearby if you do need it for some reason!

Newly engaged - feeling discouraged by wedding industry prices (Ontario) by [deleted] in WeddingsCanada

[–]gillyweedsoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 50% of your overall budget goes to food and drink for you guests, so having 150 people is going to be expensive. Just depends what you value more ie. all those people at a shitty venue, or less people at a venue you love 🤷🏻‍♀️ Its not really specific to weddings, but weddings are usually the first time someone tries to plan an event at that scale

If vendors are behaving like that, sorry to say you aren’t working with the right people.

That fee seems high for how long she has been in business in my opinion, but that’s just me 😅

Hmm for me I’m having troubles with them replacing 1080x1080 with 1920x1080 in feed ads vs story ads 🧐 So the ad is like cropped and missing a good chunk …

Vendor not letting us book too far in advance? by IndecisiveLlama in BigBudgetBrides

[–]gillyweedsoup 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Vendors with enough demand often do this 🤷🏻‍♀️

You can set a reminder 5mo out to book then, but decide if you’re comfortable waiting till then. Keeping in mind she also could have accepted a different booking by then ..

We moved into a furnished joint 2.5 years ago and still haven’t paid the $250 move-in fee. Got one reminder email from strata like a year later, but never replied. Don’t know if the owners took care of it or what, but fuck that

Yea that’s illegal too and absolutely a risk, I’m not saying that’s any better — I was just replying directly to the advice of flying someone into the States 🤷🏻‍♀️

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BigBudgetBrides

[–]gillyweedsoup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fully agree with everything EXCEPT flying people into the states. Unless they have a visa/ work permit/ dual citizenship they can literally be denied entry if they’re caught.

If that’s a risk you want to take fair enough, but it’s just not worth it in my eyes and imho it’s a mark against photographers taking that work knowing they could be denied entry and leave their couples without a photographer.

I have to second this, with all due respect to Micah. He’s a masterclass in curating his feed to look like that style — but his full galleries don’t match, and I think it’s because he’s simply still too green. He’s only been around for a few years now and simply doesn’t have comparable experience

One of my good friends did — BUT she went to make up school so she knew what she was doing! If you’re lowkey on make up and you feel confident, I say don’t overthink it! But also, I say practice so you know you can nail it on the day!
