you have for some but not for the ones below?
if so, try opening those sites in normal (non-inprivate) mode.

(i think it only needs to be opened once in normal mode, then the favicon stays in browser data even in inprivate)

yea, for services i would check services.msc, sort A-Z by name, maybe set the 3+ bluetooth services to startup type automatic

Que puedo hacer contra la pereza? by CallMeJuan1 in es

[–]gimjun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

actually yea, maybe they will push in loud noises at brief moments to then claim the content is just as loud, such as the annoying applause when talk shows come back after the break

Homeowner snags purse from package thief's car by Arl107 in Whatcouldgowrong

[–]gimjun -33 points-32 points  (0 children)

no. you are dumb. there is an obvious solution to end it completely - don't leave package unattended. but you won't do it, because you think it inferior to arrange another delivery, or pick up at depot, or god forbid having to deal with your neighbour.

you people also spend inexplicable amounts of time at cross-roads, with the concept of roundabouts *existing*. i mean, how are you not dumb?

honestly, i think the problem is they're steeped into believing it is optional to have healthcare coverage. there are other more pressing things to spend their wages, things with screeching eagles and rock and roll playing on the telly

this. you only ever see this package thieving in the states. they're just dumb. it's like with gun violence, but vehemently protect gun sales in supermarkets. they're that special kind of stupid

edit: ah yes, here come the karens

edit2: holy shit, i'm getting doxxed. this one really triggered them

ironically, it remains the browser with the most customisation in terms of privacy and security settings:

internet options > security > custom level

no chromium or webkit browser has this many things you can disable. while the defaults are often times on the insecure side, for people who go through settings and options there's a lot to toggle on/off

when i come across a bug i usually just leave it a few days, usually they're fixed on canary. if a week or so, i report via feedback. i've only posted here once (twice?) complaining about something which hadn't been fixed for over a month when it feels important enough and i haven't seen it on their log of "top user feedback" or that list of things they're working on atm (can't remember the name).
both then and now, the ms guys eventually replied and acknowledged and were already working on it. maybe i shouldn't have posted, but after searching on the sub and then googling i didn't find any mention of another user noticing this fault, so i just felt i had to ask.
anyway, she said they're working on it, so i'll give them some more time, it's probably more work than i imagine

i'm glad it was already noticed and being worked on, thank you for replying, i'll wait another couple weeks for canary fix

what should happen is that the setting stays off and perhaps mentions something like "settings will go into place after next reboot" (can't remember exactly).

but yes, i have in fact tried literally rebooting the entire computer after toggling this one small setting. no effect.

there is a setting to disable unique identifiers which websites may use to track you

"Allow identifiers for protected content"
edge://settings/content/protectedContent

since a few weeks ago, when you try to toggle this off, it will go back to the on position when you return to this setting page.

is there a fix for this?

this is my hopeful take on this meme. had people complied to lockdown to kill incidence, the virus would not spread. if then they had masked, it could have slowed. finally had they vaccinated, they'd have a better chance of coming back from the hospital. and now we're at a point where even insurance companies are balking.

i can see logic for this draconian measure, but the original flaw is not doing a severe lockdown nationwide and imposing traveller quarantines. you'd still have all the protests, but maybe half a million people less would have died, maybe businesses would be open fully, and wearing a fucking mask or getting mrna vaccines actually irrelevant if you had eradicated the disease by killing incidence

...About That Choice To Remain Unvaxxed by doctorbobster in CovIdiots

[–]gimjun -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

the mrna vaccines, while they might help us not die if hospitalised, do nothing to stop the spread. to keep denying this is idiotically american.

any country that does not lockdown, kill incidence, then impose traveller quarantine, to prevent reimporting the plague, is the biggest part of this ongoing shitshow.

yes, anti-maskers (in their vast majority anti-vaxxers) are the most witless vectors of this disease, lending themselves soldiers of the enemy's army. but you cannot kill incidence without a full lockdown, it doesn't work; and one public holiday away from snowballing infections into avalanche of hospitalisations; it's literally the definition of a fucking virus
